Should Hart and Hawes be sacked for Lickergate?

The thread.........and poll....clearly asks if H & H should be sacked. A poll to vote is given.

I believe the majority vote of "NO", should be accepted.

Of course, it,s unlikely to be accepted, because this country in particular, always panders to the minority.

Er... it's "unlikely to be accepted" because the BBC doesn't base its broadcasting rules/disiplinary decisions on messageboard polls.

Incidentally, NSC users represent a tiny minority of the BBC Southern Counties listenership, and only a tiny minority of NSC users have voted on this poll.

Out of active users I'd say that a large majority have voiced their opinions and voted overwhelmingly against the pair of them getting fired. I'd also be inclined to think that SCR listeners wouldn't vote in anything close to the same percentage if they were given the opportunity-be it for or against the sackings. This says to me that a majority want H&H back on SCR-if a higher percentage wanted them fired they would almost certainly be adding their opinions to this thread and adding their votes to the poll.

However, a vote has been held........(rather more than the BBC would ever do) and the overwhelming majority say that H & H should NOT be sacked.

As regards BBC SCR listenership............I would suggest that vast majority of people actually listening at the time would agree with the poll. (May i add that the poll was about whether they should be sacked or not............and not whether their remarks were acceptable).

As mentioned above - if SCR listeners were voting, we would have a majority vote in their favour.

Now as for national public opinion after the dailies spread the story, we'd perhaps see something different - as the people would vote against any derisory comments to do with the disabled - and the singular 'soundbyte' would influence the general populace to see it in a bad light without considering all other factors that would outline the comments as fairly harmless.

I,m merely saying that the majority of people who bothered to vote, overwhelmingly say they should not be sacked.

As for my job...?......I rarely work these days........but most of my working life was caring for the elderly.............and a few periods (many years ago now) caring for adult people with Downs syndrome.

On a personal viewpoint..................no...........I,ve been watching football for so long now, and if there is something that disappoints me more than Sky TV , no terracing etc etc.......it,s the fact that the instantaneous passion and outbursts of anger/pleasure are steadily being eroded to the extent that we are now becoming just passive observers at matches due to PC grooming.

Can I just add, that in the latter years when I was caring for the elderly, the most offensive words to them, were being referred to as "client users".......still, you kids today must have your bizarre terminology.
