We love Danny, and he's playing well for us. But if picked for England you can guarantee the story from top6/England fans & parts of the media will be that he's past it, and the England squad must be in a shit situation if Danny Welbeck is being picked. & I wouldnt want Danny being sent into that sort of toxic unsupportive environment.

Totally agree. Just look at the negative opinions about Lewis Dunk being selected for the England squad last year ahead of Jarrad Branthwaite. Even though most people knew that it would be very unlikely that he would play.

No. Tuchel's sole job is to win '26 world cup. Liam Delap should be being put into the squad now as the heir to Kane. A fit Solanke probably would be my current non-Kane choice (really good start at Spurs before injury) and Watkins would be my other one.

Danny Welbeck in a camp would be a huge boost to the young guns. I don't think he'd play much if at all but what a boost he'd be.

Harry Kane and Ollie Watkins are shoe-ins for England, so whether or not Welbeck is in contention depends on whether Tuchel thinks Toney and / or Solanke offer more than Welbeck.

I think it is possible that a German manager might value mental fortitude more highly than an English manager (there is a reason - after all, why the Germans do better than most at penalty shootouts), and Welbeck is stronger than both of those players when it comes to strength of character and leadership.

He also has a great England record, so has proved he can handle the pressure at international level.

A recall is still unlikely, but I think the average England fans would rather see Toney come on as sub, and I think Solanke would shade it for 4th striker spot. We already have the likes of Palmer and Foden too, so unless there are a couple of injuries I can't see it happening.

He would 100% be in the squad if he played for one of the "big" teams like Man Utd or...Spurs...

No, sorry, can't keep a straight face.

You know that feeling when England make it to a tight semi-final, and deep down, you just know we’re going out?

Then, Thomas Tuchel turns to the bench, gives the nod… and Danny Welbeck starts warming up. He looks over, gives a little wink. Called upon in the 82nd minute. At that moment, you just know we’re going through.

Firstly. Absolutely love Danny- please stay.

Second- if anyone thinks that Danny is the future of England or man united - you're madder than Donald Trump
