Worthing
An expensive (by our standards) player who possibly doesn’t even want to come here? Not for me Clive

Agree - I’m not sure he’s even that good. Are we blinded because he plays for a ‘big’ team?

If this is the option, it must be time for Gaeten Bong to return

Septic Pete said last night in the pub this could be on, Spurs willing to let him leave if anyone pays 75% of his £70k per week wages.

If Conte isn’t interested you would have to wonder.

Conte is trying to build a Prem title winning squad. Get real.

FRUIT OF THE BLOOM
on his game he is a very good player.

I think he will get a better offer from abroad but we will see.

You wonder whether Potter saying we have options to cover Cucurella's departure is said in part to give the impression we are not desperate (even if - potentially - Potter IS desperate).

.

Potter was just giving the party line. He needs a specialist left sided full back, the club needs one and clearly they are looking. And Bloom made available the funds (before Cucurella was sold) . Doubt that means they’ll just sign anyone, club are rightly careful about wage, character, age, potential, stats, flexibility - hence Potter saying he’ll cope if the dominos don’t fall before sept 1st.
PS: The reporting around Reguilon has been very thin. Not much there at all to suggest it’s a goer.

To be honest, I don’t particularly mind who we sign, if they have the right attitude I’d fancy Potter to turn pretty much anyone into a superstar.

This. I’ve gotten to the point now of trusting Potter to the extent where - within reason - I sort of don’t care who we do or don’t sign.

That is ever so slightly getting into Leeds fans’ Bielsa adulation territory…..Not for me.

Yeah better to think your manager is a bit crap and be suggesting replacements, who is your choice? Steve Cooper maybe?

Nothing wrong with loving what your manager brings to the club imo

Steady. Potter has a 29% win ratio not 70%

No it's having confidence that you have the greatest manager your club has ever had and will always make your team greater than the sum of it's parts. That is a pretty special talent for a manager and quite unique.

Personally, I think Potter deserves adulation anyway, what he is doing with us is amazing.

I have a mate who is a United fan who keeps throwing this fact in my face as a negative about GP. Hence I have enjoyed our results against them even more, the loser handing United their arses on a plate is getting hard for him to take.

The plonker is Brighton born and bred too

OTT replies. Icy, the alternative to thinking your manager can turn water into wine is not ‘thinking your manager is a bit crap.’ I don’t want to replace him so don’t have any alternatives to suggest. I am simply pointing out that if you really agree that we could buy anyone and Potter would turn them into a gem then you should be suggesting we buy the Crawley team for a tenner and save Tony a lot of money. This is exactly the claim made by Leeds fans about Bielsa and we have a four million page thread about their delusions.
So, to re-iterate before you distort what I am saying again;

1) Potter is brilliant
2) I want him at our club for as long as possible
3) No one can buy ‘anyone’ and turn them into a success
4) I can see we are going to have these silly, defensive accusations all this season as well.
