[Albion] Sensible, cheap and realistic solutions to the evening travel "issues".

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
What times are the last trains going from Falmer, and then going out from Brighton?

No idea of the feasibility but with that money I'd buy a fleet of buses, deck them out in Albion livery and have them running back and forth from the ground to the back of the station.

No stopping anywhere en route, could make use of the bus lanes (guess the council would need to sign off on that), no away fans allowed on 'em, just back and forth and back and forth.

Apart from that, perhaps paid lickspittle chaileyjem could come up with some ideas. Ideally something other than calling out fans on here for using the wrong words when describing the piss poor transport situation.
Let's perhaps try and be constructive rather than attacking fellow NSCs eh?

I don't know the area well enough, but evey time I've gone to the Amex from over that way I've had to go under that bridge

I'm still not sure where all those buses and other vehicles would go – as in their destination. Where would they drop people? Wouldn't it just be an extension of the coach park up the steps from the Amex, near the P&R shenanigans?

I sort of agree with you (I don't personally have a huge issue with it) but it's clearly putting enough people off that it's a bit of an issue - time for those people to offer realistic solutions that would make them come and stay till the end (or at least nearly the end).
Sod them. If they don't want to – or can't – stay until the end then so be it. It's their choice. I don't think any amount of 'transport solutions' are going to have a major impact on that mindset/situation.

More P&R sites.
Make EDF a regular site if possible.
Actually, on second thoughts, I'd go with this, if I had the money.

Free pints after a midweek match,.

You have to purchase post game, but are given a voucher, which you can redeem 45 minutes after the final whistle when you leave the concourse. This will reduce the queues immediately post match, thereby allowing those that need to make a quick exit a greater opportunity to do so,
Or half price even?? I'm sure it would make a difference.

But we surely all ideally want bums on seats, a full Amex and the maximum number of people cheering the players until as close to the final whistle as possible?

Me, personally? Couldn't give a shite.

I think realistically the train situation is unlikely to improve so therefore the best solution to me is to improve/introduce alternative modes of transport to take the strain off the trains

As mentioned before shuttle buses into central-ish Brighton could work.

At least one more p&r site

A cover for the p&r queue

As someone who lives on the West Sussex coast I'd like to see the train situation going west to be properly looked at. It's by far the most stressful part of the journey. A huge amount of Brighton fans live that way and are expected to make a mad dash for infrequent and small trains. I don't know what the answer is here but it has ground me down and I now just avoid going to mid week games because of it

But doesn't it potentially give the team a vital edge and push and thus maybe benefit everyone? Even if it's only a 1% difference. Look at a full Elland Road on 95 mins for example and how often they score late goals. Obviously the location of their stadium makes that far far easier (and let's be honest they have more passionate fans) but it surely can't hurt.

Maybe it was a dig and I should overlook what was said, but I found it distasteful at the time tbh.

Besides, I was being constructive with the rest of my post if you'd bothered to read it. I didn't realise someone had put you in charge of the thread though, so apologies for that.

The solution that has been staring us in the face for more than a decade is to build a slide from Woodingdean all the way down the hill alongside the Falmer Road to the edge of the stadium complex.

China built a 9km water slide (see below) so I’m sure we could construct a 1km slide (with or without water). With the right coordination we could move thousands of fans down the hill in an environmentally friendly way and the adrenaline rush would pump up the crowd before the game even starts. Win-win!

Back in East Sussex
Anyone on the Eastbound platform after the train has left is sent to the back of the queue. That would stop people blocking the platform because they don't want an Eastbourne/Seaford train and are waiting for the next one. GO TO LEWES AND WAIT THERE YOU IDIOTS.
This is such an annoying thing. We need those Japanese train guards to push everyone into the train if they are on the platform.

The rest of your post  was constructive - I just thought randomly attacking and insulting a reasonable poster was unnecessary.

You asked me what I thought, so I told you. I genuinely couldn't care less who is around me at the end of a game.
