I'll kick off - was on Crystal Maze in '95 - Ed Tudor Pole, unfortunately. 8 crystals; didn't get the net 100 gold for the "big" (ahem) prize. Had a brilliant time though.

Was on 15-1. Sailed through the first round then got knocked out by a vindictive witch :catfight: about 5 questions in.

I was on Eggheads and our team name was G Block which is where we sat at the time in Withdean. We lost but it was great fun.

Somebody on here was on Mastermind if i recall correctly.

That's pretty serious as "game" shows go! I always do quite well in general knowledge (10-13 points), but I don't really know what I'd offer as a specialist subject..... :nono:

I am pretty good at the dumbed down celeb editions.

I have - the Tommy Boyd hosted kids news quiz 'Whats Happening ' in 1984. It was like Have I got news for you, without the humour or celebrity guests. Didnt really have much news either.

:lolol: Sounds like it was worth watching then?

Gwylan was on Mastermind, but probably chose too broad based a subject (Shakesperian plays) and didn't do himself justice.

He was however part of a winning team in University Challenge in the early 80's, whilst having a part time job as a mass murderer.

I have appeared in 'They Know It's All Over', the football fan quiz show hosted by the bloke who used to play Damian on Brookside on ITV Digital, sadly the channel went bust.

I was in the audience up at Elstree for a recording of Who Wants To Be a Millionaire a few years back. Chris Tarrant was a right miserable git off camera that night. Took three hours to record one episode!

That's a hell of a wide subject area. Some are very narrow. I wonder how much effort the producers/researchers put into ensuring rough parity between contestants. A winning team on University Challenge, eh? Impressive stuff (assuming he contributed to the team effort, of course ).

Afraid I never saw the show you were in, so am unable to wind you up about it....

I was on Sky Sports' 'Take it like a fan', at the Amex, filmed during the home game v Blackpool 2 seasons ago. I won a quiz thing, to win the right to take a penalty at half time in front of the North stand, to win £500. Dan East the devt squad keeper was in goal.

Walt Jabasco was on the same show, doing a different quiz part. He went double or quits and lost the lot.

Was on family fortunes I think it was the third program when it first came out with Bob Monkhouse. Wasn't meant to be but my Dad suddenly backed out about a week before it was recorded and I had my mum pleading with me to go. Couldn't really refuse. Remember walking in my local on the Sunday night after it was broadcast, that was the hardest bit,
Piss taking all night

I was on the Generation Game.....Christmas 1975 show. Bruce Forsyth and Anthea Redfern...

My Aunt was supposed to be on with her son but he was diving somewhere in the world so I stood in. Won one of the rounds but I ended up with my engraved tankard so at least I have a memento.

If I ever got to be in a quiz show....my favourite subject Military history would be good...but Todays music (pop) I wouldn't stand a chance...cannot even tell you 1 record in the Top Twenty...up until the 80s I knew the music list by heart...nowadays...strange sounding groups ...my disabled daughter loves Xfactor...and did audition for them...I watch it with her and it seems to get anywhere these days the mantra is...get on the stage...(sob story if you have one) then just scream out as loud as you can...music taste do alter when you get older, but if that screaming makes some people happy who am I to diss it ?

Auditioned for The Chase earlier this year, but failed! Apparently the average is three auditions to get through. Fun day out though.
