So bar possible sell on value does anyone else have any reason to pay £500 for a certificate?
Yes. But that system is only available if the game is sold out.Arsenal Ticket Exchange | Tickets | Arsenal.com
This is what we need for when a season ticket holder cannot go to a game if away

We need to be able to sell a ticket on (or even give it away) if there is an occasion when a season ticket holder can't get to a game (eg, if on holiday).
We already have such a system in place, of course. It's called informal contact - eg mates. Sometimes it's NSC's ticket exchange. If I can continue to give my ticket to a mate or another member of the family (or sell it at face value), there won't be a problem.
The question is ... will this be possible at Falmer?

It seems impossible to police the sale or gift of passcards for single games on to others - as long as you're happy to trust them with it. I guess there may be restrictions on those with non-adult cards (audible warning noise as you pass through the barrier/different colour card) but I can't see how anyone can stop an adult entering with an adult card.
I guess the tricky bit will be if you don't want to triust them with the card. In this case, if you want to use the ticket exchange option, I suspect that you may need a PSL to do so. In this case you may also want to add on a small charge (£5 or so) to pay for the cost of the PSL (if that's all you want it for). The question will be - will you be able to do so or will the club set the price? There are a lot of questions to be asked at the Falmer meetings.
The technology isn't in place yet but in the future the smart card will work in conjunction with retinal scanners at the turnstiles.
I'm not having my RETINAL scanned
I'll wait until the presentations but to me, without rights to other events at Falmer, this appears to be one money maker too far.
