So bar possible sell on value does anyone else have any reason to pay £500 for a certificate?

The only other reason I can think of is to keep the ST in the family if someone stopped going or passed away.

This is what we need for when a season ticket holder cannot go to a game if away
Yes. But that system is only available if the game is sold out.

We need to be able to sell a ticket on (or even give it away) if there is an occasion when a season ticket holder can't get to a game (eg, if on holiday).

We already have such a system in place, of course. It's called informal contact - eg mates. Sometimes it's NSC's ticket exchange. If I can continue to give my ticket to a mate or another member of the family (or sell it at face value), there won't be a problem.

The question is ... will this be possible at Falmer?

The thing is you can pass on a season ticket as it is can`t you.
You just have to remember not to ring the club and tell them you have died.

It seems impossible to police the sale or gift of passcards for single games on to others - as long as you're happy to trust them with it. I guess there may be restrictions on those with non-adult cards (audible warning noise as you pass through the barrier/different colour card) but I can't see how anyone can stop an adult entering with an adult card.

I guess the tricky bit will be if you don't want to triust them with the card. In this case, if you want to use the ticket exchange option, I suspect that you may need a PSL to do so. In this case you may also want to add on a small charge (£5 or so) to pay for the cost of the PSL (if that's all you want it for). The question will be - will you be able to do so or will the club set the price? There are a lot of questions to be asked at the Falmer meetings.

surely being able to frame the cert and put in up in your office must be worth the money

I am all for helping the club . However the new stadium hype will IMO get close to hysteria as the new season approachs . I have to remember the Goldstone never "sold " out when we were last in the Prem (old 1ST ) The club will need to bring this sales pitch closer to the 1901 benefits for it to be sucsessfull . Punters must feel they are getting value ,and not just a load of "conditions of use "

The technology isn't in place yet but in the future the smart card will work in conjunction with retinal scanners at the turnstiles.

I'll wait until the presentations but to me, without rights to other events at Falmer, this appears to be one money maker too far.
