I don't really know why people are surprised, at 600 quid a go the investment in the team has to match the layout of the fans, match day revenue vs team investment must be a pretty poor statistic, people do want to go watch good players, they don't want to pay for the most expensive season tickets yet see one of the lowest investments

Hardly a good excuse because it isn't £600 a go. It's never been easier to spread the cost at no extra cost.

Any less than 22-23k in the ground on a regular basis and I'll stop going, I love the Amex for its bustle, atmos and general enthusiasm of most fans despite what we read on here. But if it becomes too expensive with barber trying to extract every penny out of us, and also no spending on the playing side and that coinciding with crap football. I'm out. I watched utter shit for years, I'm too old to pay to watch shit and with no atmos or enjoyment. I hope it's still as close to last years attendances but if not. I'm gone.

In total, I know 12 people who have given up their season tickets and they all cancelled due to cost and the loss of the 'community' feel around the club.

Some have been supporters for over 20 years but they simply don't recognise the club anymore.

It is a slippery slope and a real shame.

Genuinely don't get this. I can understand many reasons for not getting or renewing ST's but not that. The whole of football has changed over the past 20 years and I don't think the commercialism of BHA is any different

I don't particularly like it but being a supporter and wanting the best for the club is in the blood, despite some aspects of it that really piss me off

I think you will always get a certain number of people drop away each year. Money, family, age, health will all affect people and make them think twice about renewing. If the team performs well then i expect the latter part of the season will see it ramo again. Until then i expect about 25k of people in mostmatch days depending on the away contingent.

I personally love the AMEX experience. Travel can be a mare on occasions. Also prices inside have made me have a pie or pint less than i used to. This is however out weighed by watching the Albion live.

Most of the mid-table teams in this division had gates of 12-14K last year (inc. Burnley). We need to keep being in with a shout to maintain 25K plus.

I agree. If our attendances fell to the average of the division we could well be in a financial mess given the shit load of cost that we appear to be carrying

We may lose fans but we gaining new fans the club do lot of work in the community to build a connection with younger fans.we should be proud of the club and if you went To Hereford it could have been very different. God bless Dick god bless Tony Bloom

ST doesn't necessarily equate to fan. How many fans had STs at the Goldstone? At Gillingham? At Withdean? First time I ever bought a ST was at Withdean following a season when capacity was so restricted that it was getting stupid and if you wanted to see an individual game you had to be entered into a ballot for a chance to buy a match ticket. I'll never forget going into the Club shop and seeing ticket office staff who's job mainly consisted of mailing big stacks of cheques back to unlucky fans with a note telling them they had been unlucky in the ballot. Just because you have a ST doesn't make you any better a fan than someone who doesn't have a ST. IMHO, like.

Having spent too many years not being able to attend due to work this will be my third season of regular attendance and my second as a season ticket holder. I don't resent the journey from North London each game and I'd rather there were fewer night games but to be honest I can't imagine ever giving up on my ST unless work makes it prohibitive for me again.

Those who are fed up about the lack of 3pm Saturday kick offs must be desperately hoping that we never get promoted. I can't admit I like the prospect of travelling to 12:45 kick-offs, or getting to 8pm Monday or regular Wednesday and Sunday games... but that's the unseen price that gets added on when you get successful.

If you want a cheaper season ticket find a cheaper seat, if there is one. If you don't want to sacrifice the view or experience that you currently have then don't. I admit that I have enough disposable income to get to all home and a fair few away games and that makes me very lucky. I also have a wife who loves going to the Amex as much as I do (although she was less than impressed with some of our trips to Yorkshire at the back end of last season) but her work may soon stop her getting to as many games as she'd like.

Bottom line for me is that I simply couldn't give up my season ticket, even if I was stuck in the ESL library and we had 15 night games at home every season. I just couldn't do it. I think it's a childhood thing. All those years through the 70s and 80s now feel as fresh as they did to me back then and the childlike enthusiasm and enjoyment have both come flooding back over the past few years.

I can't wait for another season to begin.

I was surprised to see so many great seats available for the Sheff Weds game on the club website today. Seats that have not been available in the past, like lower East and West (centre). I heard we have lost close to 10% of season ticket holders but it seems like more, especially from the prime seating areas. I assume the question may come up at the forum next week but does anyone know the actual number?

What do the club expect!? Make some decent signings and the ST sales will be boosted. It's simple, invest in the team, and the fickle punters will invest in tickets.

I've renewed again and so have all the people I sit with in the WSU. Was an ST holder at the Goldstone and, although didn't have an ST was a regular at Gillingham and Withdean plus away trips. Got an ST when the Amex opened and its still the best value when compared to matchday prices where I sit. Love the Albion so I would go anyway, ST or no ST. We are so lucky to have the Amex - it's one of the best stadiums in the country so just cannot understand some of the negativity on here.

The club haven't quoted any figures since March when they said sales were "20k+".
All other figures on here are pure guesswork. Of course there's always a turnover each year and some don't renew for many reasons but almost certainly we will have one of the highest # of ST holders not in the Champ but English football, bigger than many prem clubs. Fickle ? Hardly.
Our growing fan base /attendances is one of the most astonishing success stories in football in last 5 years.

As for decent signings...not long now.
