Actually, I don't think that's deliberate. There's been a number of times over the years we've announced price rises and it's come just after a dismal performance or run of form. I can definitely remember thinking "well that's great timing, guys". Pretty sure Potter's run of seven (?) defeats in a row was one of those times.
Never attempt to mess with a seductive trope.
Especially one with a dash of conspiracy and some BarberOUT! sprinkles.
???

I mostly agree. I think in isolation (and in comparison to other Premier League clubs) the prices are reasonable, and at Premier League level, good value for money.

I also think that the rises are a little distasteful when we made a whopping profit for 22/23, are expected to announce another profit for 23/24 and are expected to make a minimum of one large sale this summer if not more. The 5% additional income (likely around £1.2m) seems paltry and difficult to understand why it is being covered by fans when the club are guaranteed £120-140m from non-matchday revenue per season.
So you will be happy if we make another whopping profit this season?
(By selling Pedro, Mitoma and Baleba)
???

Profit YAY!! Rejoice! Rejoice!
My point was that if we don't sell those players we won't be making a profit.
And then we won't be able to diss the club for increasing ticket prices in part to offset a loss.

So your correct facetious response should have been:
"Sell our best players YAY!! Rejoice!"

But you knew that.

Not many, they are hardly scoring any. Only on 31 from 25 games, and 9 of them were in the first two games
True enough. We've had five 0-0 draws in the last nine home games. I was quite pleased the ref gave Sunderland 2 bogus penalties in the last 10 minutes on Friday, because it made for the most entertaining 0-0 draw we've had so far.

75% usage required..list by 2pm previous day so ill on the day with covid the club want fans to attend? Doubt many if any buy a ST to not use it. Why cant the club treat fans like adults. All rather punative

Do it. I've not been to one game this season at home, 1 away at arsenal. I've sold every single ticket except one and they've sent me my renewal notice. Just remember to put on the exchange ASAP.
Not received renewalnotice should i have? By email?

I'm often perplexed that a lot of NSC threads are devoted to season ticket holders who don't go or can't go.

I’m going to get pelters for this, but oh well.

I think Premier League football represents excellent value for money, especially our prices compared to the likes of Arsenal.

Theatre is my other love, another expensive hobby, and you’re hard pressed to get a reasonable seat for entertainment of an equivalent length and like-for-like in terms of quality. Plus travel on top for the West End.

£700 / 19 matches is around £36.80 per game, travel included.

Seeing a West End show 19 times a year at an average ticket price of £70 (but good seats can easily run to £150) would cost around £1,330, plus travel from Brighton at around £30 return (£570) for a total of £1,900.

I realise football was the “working man’s game”, but those days are long gone.

I’m happy with those prices - just don’t tell Barber.
It’s sad those days are long gone. Sanitising support and out pricing working class fans. Yeah, that’s really good, not.

I think it's pretty clear that the club should do a bit of PR / change their words about this.

At the moment I have some fairly serious stuff going on, and attending is difficult, so when i read the text, it read that i could have my ST taken from me for anything less than 75% of attendance. I'd hope that in a few months i can get to some more games.

as it turns out, the system isn't that bad - but the way that it reads is not that great.

There's been stories on here of certain types who only use STs for the big games. I have no idea if this is true, or there are other reasons for significant non-use, but either way, there must be an issue for Barber to want to impliment these new measures.

Agreed. A a football club with great intentions, but also with no idea what it's like to be a paying supporter and how these things could be taken.

We get endless posts complaining about the ‘pretendance’ and empty seats…….and now endless posts about the club trying to fix the issue

I have rarely seen such strong dedication to the cause of avoiding to go see one's football club.

Just to point out that's 75% usage: if you sell through the exchange or transfer using the club scheme that counts are usage. They don't want empty seats.
