Yes 100%. I am very happy to swallow the increase as well. I think that it is still good value and even if we don't get Europe, we are clearly a team who can hold their own against the biggest sides in the land and that's great entertainment (City, Arsenal, Spurs, United). I think it would be a certifiably insane decision from a fan to decide the current prices aren't worth it and walk away.

At the same time, I think any rise from the club is unnecessary. Maybe it's a foolish want, but I'd hope to see any business making a healthy profit not further put costs on the customers just because they can, especially one so rooted in a community of repeat customers.
Premier League should be free for locals imho. If some fat lad in Texas pay me £1bn to watch me juggle a ball for a bit I'd use that money to give something to the community... not take more of their money.

Should be prio nr 1 for the Football Regulator. "From now on the 600 million armchair golddiggers across the world will be funding our community clubs, because why wouldn't the communities get more in return from the globally sold product they participate in creating?"

I seem to be an age that has suffered from such changes the most throughout my life.
Every time I got near an upgraded benefit at work, they moved it back out of reach and now, just as I’m approaching a discount on my football watching after paying full price for 45 years, they move the goalposts.
No doubt, I’ll keep paying for the extra year, though. As long as they don’t move the qualifying age again the following season (which is what seemed to happen with work benefits back in the 80s).
The change to age 66 is from the 2026/27 season. So if you qualify for the 65+ concession this year, you should be ok. And then you’ll be ok for the season after as you’d then be 66+.

Unless you’re still a year short … in which case celebrate being too young 😉

Didn't somebody once work out that the EPL could actually afford to do that? Pay-off for TV would be that a live crowd would make it seem far more exciting than it actually is. Well at least until enhanced CGI technology does away with even that requirement

Anyone else notice the lack of mention of free travel?

Someone had told me it was going next season but I had presumed that wasn't true. Is this them quietly removing it?
?? ... Its mentioned as one of the benefits on the website.

Of course the EPL clubs could afford that if they wanted, but they want profits and higher wages instead. TV money could cover all attendance costs AND decent player wages. If the will was there.

And indeed the crowds play a massive role. A big part of the Premier League as a product is the visual aspects. Over the years, several leagues have at different times been better than the PL but none have seen as much growth. Because football feels and looks worse when you have the half-empty small worn out stadiums with running tracks surrounding the pitch, even if the football in itself is actually just as good.

So the crowds in the PL have historically played a big role in making PL the biggest and wealthiest league in the world. Other contributors like owners, CEOs, managers, players, agents, football shoe producers and betting companies all got some kind of financial return from the growth of the PL. The fans contributing to it? They get higher costs and stricter rules.

Both my kids are still U18 (just) so still just under £1k but only just. This season I've started cutting back a lot on what we buy in the ground as I am starting to notice it more. I buy the kids sweets etc form Tesco Express outside the station before the match now. It's why I find the 17.30 kick off such a pain, food costs for 2 x teenagers.

Same here. c.£350 increase for us next season?
Not sure why, but I still buy my lads tickets, and they're going to be 19 and 22 come next season! Both play on a Saturday and I prefer to watch them, so I think it may be just one ticket next season

You've just reminded me the boy will no longer be U18 on this renewal cycle. Time to send him down a coal mine.
My lad turns 18 on the 23rd August this year. Do you happen to know if that means that I’ll now be charged full adult price for him, or will I sneak another year of U18 prices given that he’ll still be 17 when the season starts? Can’t see the answer on the website anywhere…..

Edit; just seen above that I’ll be paying more for his ticket this season!!! Bugger.

takes my seat up to about £38 a match. Im OK with that, at £7:50 a pint-give or take-, probably a lot cheaper than a night in the pub to be honest.

I'm probably not renewing as it's just too time consuming doing the long journeys to/from the ground so regularly and I probably need to have more availability for family stuff on reflection. Will likely just go back to picking and choosing 5/6 home games a season I think.

Anyone know if this will mean my loyalty points go back to 0 if I go back to being a MyA+ member? Would I get told off if I kept hold of my season tickets but put them on the exchange 10+ times a season?
