Given the swathes of empty seating and easy availabilty of tickets will you be bothering to renew next year if we are still in this division?

Yes, but can't guarantee I can make all the games. Was there last night and was a little cheesed by the poor attendance, but at least season ticket holders have already paid, regardless of whether they turn up.

It's the waverers we need to get through the turnstiles. Walsall only took about 75, unsurprisingly.

The thing is, a season ticket at the Albion is only really good value to supporters like ME who live in LONDON. It saves me at least a fiver on travel every game. Therefore, take £5 free travel off my £18 ticket (which is roughly what it works out at on a game by game basis) and the game itself is only costing my £13. GREAT VALUE. But if you live in Brighton (which is surely where most fans live) games are more expensive.

The club need to address this. Quite how, though, is another thing.

Thoughts?

Yes. Why not ...

Can't be arsed buying individual tickets for each game. Me and five mates have ST's together, if we didn't we'd have to co-ordinate for each match, getting tickets together, what seats, which stand etc.

ST's are the simple option plus the club gets my financial committment up front, rather than in 23 installments.* If there was a reduction in ticket prices, I would obviously expect that to be reflected in ST prices.

* My choice ... not a claim of SuperFandom.

Don't see why empty seats would be a reason NOT to renew.

Only ask because I had a season ticket for 5 years, gave it up last year and doubt I'll ever bother with another one whilst tickets are available so freely for 99% of games.

Yes , guarentees a seat for all games , can get paid in advance + makes easy for away tickets and cup game if needed.

Ease of getting tickets and not having to pay for games I don't go to, seems pretty logical to me?

IF I still did have a season ticket though I'd be quite happy for the club to bring prices down to whatever level they needed to to fill the ground .

If we are in the same division, i will probably do as lots of mates do and that is pick and choose my games.

Ok it may be hassle getting tickets sometimes, but with half the ground empty at the moment that is not a problem.

I dont see the point in lashing out £450 odd in April when the club offer incentives to get cheap seats.

last night I had the offer of 12 tickets .......5 of them the people didnt want anything for the ticket!!!

Well if you're getting a season ticket I'd presume you'd being going to near enough every home game, and it's still easier than getting them game by game, especially for a group.

No, went to less than half the games when I had one. Making a phone call to book a ticket really isn't that much hassle either.

I guess thats the difference ... I'm pretty sure that I'd want to go most games, regardless of league position, opposition, champions league etc.

For those people who only fancy a few games a season an ST doesn't make sense ...

If you go on your own then yes, I guess you are right ...

Personally I want to sit with a group of mates, having to go through the hassle of buying tickets all together every week is a right ache (one person normally ends up paying and then collecting cash back from the others).

the thing is I never used to be like this.

In the last 30 years I probably missed about 10 games home and away a season. I was a real fanatic, Swansea away ( one of the 48, Sunderland at Roker park 70's, one of the 30 odd etc etc) , but i think i have fallen out of love with football. There just appears to be too much of it, most of it mediocre.

My dad, God rest his soul, also got to this stage when he was about my age (50ish) and he stopped going( the days of bazza Lloyd).

yes i would probably miss it, but I only now go to the occasional away game and do miss the days out( I used to go with BAG until she stopped going). I have a ST now and therefore go to home games.

Not being funny but the whole of the summer you were going on about not renewing etc etc . I suggest you always will when it comes down to it as you are a proper fan

I agree. I don't necessarily go entirely for the football ... a big part of my reason for going is the social aspect. It's pretty much the only time I'm gaurunteed to see a lot of my mates ... now that we all have young families, jobs, mortgages, wives etc.

Well if this poll is representative of season ticket holders I'd say it was pretty good news for the board. 90% renewals at full price,

absolutely spot on.

before the game, i meet up with people on here at the Sportsman, have a drink, a laugh....go in a 5 to 3, meet up with people around me, Yorkie, Ned, dover , Krispies, WH Seagull, statto etc etc and have good laugh and banter. the football is secondary.

Maybe that says more about my social life than anything else but if that wasn't so, i wouldnt go.

Well said mate, I know we've been chatting about this offline this morning too, but this is where the club has to fight the council. 'Condition of Withdean' is killing the club. A renewed effort to enable fans to opt out of this cost if so desired and see a reduced price (whilst still offering tickets WITH travel including) is what's needed here. We're all treated like idiots who unless we're dragged kicking and screaming onto public transport we won't use it. That's rubbish. Like you I'm coming from far away and never use this part of my ticket because I park in Patcham (outside the 'illegal' parking area) and walk down to the game because it's quicker. It costs me a ruddy fortune in petrol as it is and yet I've been forced to pay hundreds to network south central etc over the years for no reason. Plus I can't get to all games so that's money down the drain from my ST. Anyone with half a brain can see this isn't fair and unnecessarily pushing the price up. Radical revision of ticket prices is what's needed here. Not someone consistently giving excuses as to why it can't be done.
