Season ticket holders at Gillingham

I was speaking to someone who was a season ticket holder at Gillingham (by the way that is not me -0 Im a casual fan, only ever been a season ticket holder when a kid at the Soldstone). He had no problem (in fact was very pleased) that corporate sales have gone so well. However they were promised that they would be first in the new ground and have priority. The club have not looked after them and I think the club should have shown the 800 or so S/T at Gillingham around the new ground at the same time as corporate, explaining that corporate seats were reserved but the rest of the ground they could choose from. This then keeping a promise to 800 very loyal customers whilst still selling the corporate seats. Do other people think they should be looked after and if so then can someone "in the know" have a word with Dick Knight, who can have a word with TB about this. It would be sensible for the club to get this sorted out and look to repair the damage that has already been done.

I was a season ticket holder for one season at Gillingham, and haven't had a season ticket since.

I certainly don't expect (nor deserve) to be on any priority list!!

Right but the people I know have been since the 1960s and they still are S/T holders. Also a promise is a promise

There is enough season tickets to go round for everyone at the Amex. I was a season ticket holder at Gillingham but only remember a guarantee of a Withdean season ticket. Anyway, ive signed up for the 1901 club so what do care  I

yes there is enough to go around and yes tey have has S/Ts none stop since the 60s. The point isn't just about them tho its a bigger point, some will want half way line seats ect ect, but more its about the failure to keep a promise and really look after 800 loyal customers that i think is more than a bit shoddy by the people with day to day management of the club. It would have been great PR to have looked after them properly. A bit of thought would go a long way. I think it comes down to doing the right thing

Have the club announced the priorities amongst current season ticket holders yet?

No idea, but the club should have taken around the 800 or so S/Ts that went to Gillingham first / at the same time as corporate, and just said the corporate seats were not available for obvious reasons but the rest of the ground was theirs to choose from. Its just a bit of thought to some people that have been at the club for years and as they are not in the first blush of youth, are lucky enough to have some old fashioned proper values about doing the right thing

1901 seats have been available for everyone since they went on sale. There have been no tours*, just a viewing platform. The presentation is a film in a portacabin.

* tours have been for selected high profile companies and the likes of samrah, bassford etc etc

When and how did the club make this so called promise ???

I never understood the point of having a season ticket at Gillingham. Were folk afraid that the Priestfield would sell out and the only way to get to see a game was to have a season ticket?

I didn't have one ( I did have a Goldstone one though ) but I would guess it would make each match cheaper ?

ep so from "firt priority" they are behind corporate and 1901. Silly, the Gillingham S/T holders were told they would be first, and first means first, with 1901 and corporate in m view. There are only about 800 of them. A few old school values go a long way with people of a certain generation

It was a bargain...kids season tickets were only £25 for that wonderful style of football that was put on for the supporters!

So why haven't they challenged the club? The stadium has been under construction for 2 yrs. Plenty of time to remind people.

The club needs big money to run in this day and age and therefore the likes of Amex have to be courted. If they have been season ticket holders throughout Withdean (at the risk of repeating myself) they will be called to select their seats ahead of all other more recent season ticket holders. What more can the club do?

I understand an email was sent to Mr Brown but they never got a reply. Of course the club wants corporate and read the thread they have no issue and are delighted that corporate has sold out, the 800 or so could and should have been looked after at the same time

I think you'll find that those who have had a season ticket longest will have first dibs on season tickets. AND nobody has had a tour around the actual ground, only a presentation in a crummy portacabin. If you asked Paul on ATC I'm pretty sure he'd confirm that.

By letter when asking for renewals and by email as well I believe.

Well, when a few of the 800 start to complain I'll take it seriously but until then I'll content myself with the fact that there are more than 22,000 seats meaning anyone that wants a season ticket will get one.
