Season ticket holders at Gillingham

Well, when a few of the 800 start to complain I'll take it seriously but until then I'll content myself with the fact that there are more than 22,000 seats meaning anyone that wants a season ticket will get one.

Yes that is the problem, people of a certain generation will say politely once but are unlikely to make complaint vocal. They just expect people to do the right thing and when they don't, then it is noted, not forgotten and they will just quietly judge the people without the manners. A bit of thought would not have been much to ask for, but then again, perhaps it is.

ep so from "firt priority" they are behind corporate and 1901. Silly, the Gillingham S/T holders were told they would be first, and first means first, with 1901 and corporate in m view. There are only about 800 of them. A few old school values go a long way with people of a certain generation

They invited everyone who was interested in the 1901 seats to apply, if your friends were interested, they could have applied then but by going by what you have put, they weren't.

The rest of the season tickets have yet to be a) finalised (price) and b) to go on sale yet - so your friends haven't missed out or been put to the back of the queue - The club could and may have been planning to allow Sth's like your friends to apply first as a thank you for their support, lets wait and see what they do before criticising them too much.

btw - i don't recall anything about getting first dibs on Falmer, but i do remember that people who had tickets at Gillingham got priority for Withdean, which is why they gave out tickets for those paying on the gate to use to support their application for Withdean season tickets - could they have got confused by this?

As a season ticket holder of 17 years standing, I can assure anyone concerned that the club has not got a clue, who did and did not have a season ticket at Priestfield. Based on recent events they haven't got a clue who sat where last week.

While I am at it, I don't understand some of the current conspiracy theories. It is quite clear that season tickets are not yet on sale for Falmer, because the club can't cope with the demands of this season

As for season tickets at Priestfield, we had a club hanging on by the skin of their teeth. Buying a season ticket was a small commitment to aid cashflow. I was however a lightweight and never made a single evening kick off.

I was a STH at Gillingham and I remember no such promise. I really dont understand this "letting the real fans down" attitude.

You cannot possibly argue against the club needs to raise more corporate revenue (can you?) and given the amount that the 1901 club members are paying, why shouldnt they get the best seats?

I dont think so Guy Fawkes, S/Ts at Gillingham were supposed to have piority. As such they should be in the same bracket at 1901 and corporate.
I clicked on your "Winers campaign" thread. Interesting read and saw something in the parade at Lewes bonfire about this as well

F*ck me, half of us who went to Priestfield regularly are probably dead by now! It seems a bloody long time ago, standing under that corregated iron roof, the steward who looked like Dangermouse, Palace outnumbering us in that friendly, Michael Mahoney-Johnson, yuk, bad memories....

I never understood the point of having a season ticket at Gillingham. Were folk afraid that the Priestfield would sell out and the only way to get to see a game was to have a season ticket?

The reason many got season tickets for the second season at Gillingham was because it was said at one point that we would be going to Withdean part way through the season so it was a way of guaranteeing yourself a decent seat at our shiny new temporary ground. However, I don't ever remember being promised any priority for a new ground - especially as nobody really knew where it would be back then.

I had a season ticket at Gillingham and to be fair they offered me a 10 year season ticket before we moved to the Withdean, which I took up. It was at this point they dangled the carrot of a first choice at the new stadium when seats became available.

The club did write early on in the year to let me know about the options at Falmer, so personally I cannot complain. :amex:

I had a season ticket at Gillingham solely to show some sort of solidarity with the club at a desperate time. However, it came in useful when the clueless Mr Wood was manager,as I was able to send my season ticket back to Dick Knight in disgust! A couple of weeks later I received backlight post, and the next day Wood was gone!

I would have thought that most of the Gillingham season ticket holders will also be among the 2000 who have also had season tickets throughout our stay at Withdean, who the club has indicated will be given priority at the Amex.

I had a season ticket at Gillingham partly because I wanted to give the club money upfront - precise inverse of the reason I didn't have a season ticket in the final year at the Goldstone.

I have has an ST ever since and look forward to getting one at the Amex.

The only thing that's upsetting me at the moment are the people on this board trying to start a fight in an empty room.

I'm pleased that the 1901 packages have gone so well, I'm pleased that there will be plenty of good seats left over for season ticket holders (and after that for casual buyers), I'm pleased that the specification of the stadium looks great, that the team are going beautifully and that we seem to have supporters running the club.

Life's good right now and if the militants want a moan I would be very grateful if they would go somewhere else to have one.

I has a season ticket for Gillingham, so I could get first dibs at a Withdean ticket. I had a season ticket until the 2nd relegation from the Championship. I do not expect any special treatment. I am getting a ticket for the Amex for me and my eldest son (11) whatever happens as there will be plenty to go round.

But a Amex tour would have been nice!!!!

So Working Class Pride is clearly shit stirring. Especially given that Falmer wasn't a certainty when we left Gillingham how the hell could the club have made such an offer ???

So we have

1) I have supported the club since the end of the war
2) I had a season ticket at Gillingham
3) I had a season ticket at the Goldstone
4) I've got a season ticket at Withdean
5) I had a season ticket but let it lapse

as sticks to beat the club with because YOU haven't been invited to have 1st dibs (at a substantial discount obviously) from the ONLY seats on offer so far. Have I missed any?

My dad, previously a lifelong Albion fan, bought a season ticket for Wimbledon when they played at Selhurst in the 90s, so that he could watch Premiership football. He is now thinking about getting a season ticket at Falmer. Is he a bad man and how far down the priority list should he be?

My reason too, and my season ticket that season came complete with a seat row and number for Withdean. I thought then , as I do now, I was getting priority for the temporary ground at Withdean, not any new ground.

I once met a bloke in a pub who had a season ticket at Withers in 2003... Does that qualify me?

Exactly. Buying a ST for Gillingham was considered (seriously) as a charity donation by the wife and I. I rarely went, but we needed to keep the club afloat.

TBH for me, it's stuff that that that does make the Club's focus on 1901 Club a bit galling. Not because us long-standing STHs should have priority, but because our recent history is of the community spirit involved in all pulling together. The club is starting to create the impression that, from now on, we are purely and simply customers (or even, in the case of seat license holders, "investors").

I hope I'm wrong, and that this is a temporary blip caused by the wait while they get systems up and running for general STH sales.
