I was in the same thinking Edna, until i tried it. What if I'm aboard a boatload of wankers? As soon as we hit the open seas all that melted away. The boat was bloody huge and the cabins were most comfy. The crew and the guests respect everyone's privacy. The best part was I really got along with everyone as everyone aboard is after the same thing, dive, dive, dive. After seven days at sea I didn't envy those who opted to stay at an all inclusive resort with the binge drinkers and over weight German tourist. Naw, this was bliss.

Did you travel out on your own? The other thing is, I've not got that many logged dives, so would be worried everyone else would be a total expert & I'd hold back whoever I ended up buddying with...

PADI Open Water. Learnt in Bahamas – did the Bond wrecks, a shark dive, drift dive and a blue hole on Andros which was the highlight. I can remember for some reason there used to be a lot of friction between PADI and BSAC divers on the dive boats. Liveabord and a diving safari in the Red Sea with Oonas divers who used to be in Eastbourne. Anybody Nitrox certified?

The "we " is my ex. You said youself you have AOW, what's the worry ?

I guess! I have about 30 logged dives I think, I kind of imagined the boats would be full of divers with thousands under their belts.

Anyhoo, when are we all going, and where? :lolol:

I got to PADI Open Water Advance about 15 years ago, but haven't dived since.

I enjoyed it, though haven't wanted to make it a interest. Though I'd be happy to have another go on the right sort of holiday.

I learnt with Oonas Divers out in Sharm el Sheik. I seem to remember enjoying a share air drill with a rather fit Swiss girl

Love my diving. Have been fortunate enough to dive fairly extensively in the Caribeean. Never felt like going further than PADI OW. I learnt at Newhaven Scuba Centre - anyone else out there been to Margarets finishing school ?

Not bragging here, OK. But.

Best night dive I did was midnight in Cayman Islands, 80ft ,40 mins. Afuckingmazing. Had a remoray stuck to my tank.Found stone fish and watched the dive master tickle it's belly. Madman.

Ah - I lived there for 7 years. Dived every couple of weeks. Never really seen the attraction of diving in cold cloudy UK waters since returning to the UK though.
