It appears that Scotch eggs seem to be having a bit of a revival at the moment. The big supermarkets all seem to have premium products out now and also different styles (black pudding, sundried tomato, spicy, etc.).
However, whilst wandering around the the North Road farmers market yesterday I found the best scotch eggs I have ever eaten. There is a guy there selling handmade scotch eggs made with duck eggs. I was tempted by the chorizo one but chose the pork, apple and onion one which was absolutely delicious. They are £3 each but absolutely huge (they have to be to get the meat around the duck egg) and well worth the money.
Get yourselves down there next Saturday and get yourself a half time snack - much better than playing pie roulette in the WSU.
