seems to be a lot of blokes on here around my age that went to patcham fawcett, anybody remember the trip to sevensisters near eastbourne camping for a week in the old orange transit ? long shot i know

enough time has now passed for me to own up for poisoning 8 of the party with pond water and for the disappearance of the transit over the rolling green hills of sussex. :smokin:

I was 14 at the time of the trip and im 47 now so it was a bit before your time,i did not know that Davis had commited suicide, there were 2 davies there, when i was there,1 was a a wazzock and the pe teacher who was a blinding bloke, and was one of the teachers on the trip, the other was a guy called shavrin ? ? prob spelt that wrong.

I blamed the poisoning on the grub and the runaway transit on a lad named malcolm who was so ill they had to take him home :lolol:

I was on a train that broke down and never got there :(

You were there in spirit, the state of the art electronic scoreboard flashed up the news ,Brighton supporters stranded as seagull special train broken down, ....K.o 7.45...the 24 hour clock was still light years away in football..

For years afterward forest fans thought we had a huge firm of special needs supporters, and how right they were. :lolol:

Going a bit O/T.. but

Davis was front page of Argus at the time, during mid summer holidays, with his mashed up Datsun 100/cherry thing on the rocks at the bottom - bit grim when you're 15.

He used to jump down off a chair to cane you (on the arse/back of legs)..
In my time i had three strokes off that :censored:

Made all the worse when Mr Thompkinson on first day back, said "err you've all been taught wrong syllabus for past two years by Mr Davis, so we're dropping you down to CSE and hope you make that..!!"

Davies the PE teacher was still there when i was, don't know other bloke..Tregear maybe..?

I teach a bunch of 10 year olds and have arranged for them to visit the site at the end of the month! They are all really excited! Nearly as excited as their teacher! :falmer:

Blacklands Farm was great, my school used to send all the first years up there to bond with their new classmates after moving from primary schools (ie to work out who the weaker ones were and give them a wedgie in the darkness, hide creatures in their sleeping bags and capsize their canoes).

PE teacher was called Schaverian or somesuch. He was ok, spotted me and 3 mates in a pub about 3 months after leaving and just smiled and tipped his glass at us.
The other PE teacher was a bloke called Wilcox, IIRC he was an ex rugby league pro and tough as old boots.
And Frankie Ingham

Next Monday I am off to Washington D.C with my College for 2nd years Politics / Law , looking forward to the main sites, with a tour of the White House.....to
Then in 2 weeks time I am off to Munich and Berlin for a week, mostly looking forward to going to the Olympic Stadium and being able to drink out there.

The two trips not really that expensive and I don’t go to a private school.
