Not quite. They have them here in the Netherlands too, where they are called saucijzenbroodjes. I had a very good one yesterday.

Not to be confused with worstenbroodjes, which sound like sausage rolls, but are actually piss-poor bland variants on a hot dog, with none of the redeeming toppings.

Boo-hoo, please don't remind me of Dutch snackfoods. It's waaaay too long since I had a frikandel speciaal and patat met pindasaus.

FEBO should open up over here!

In the outback, it's about the only thing you can buy! Vegetables are more rarely seen than a salad in Scotland. Vegetarians are turned back at the border.

I manage 5 or 6 games a season. Spending the weekend in Exeter in a couple of weeks to watch them down there.

Pies at Worcester RC are also very good.

Have to honest and admit, that l have never witnessed a major Rugby Union match live. Have always followed the fortunes of the Quins since the days I lived quite close to the Sloop.

Hopefully I will get to see them play one day.

They'd be no good over here. The machines would be constantly out of order through vandalism, piss, shit, blood, vomit, all of the above.

That said IMO we're not missing much.

More pubs should serve Bitterballen though. You can get them in De-Hems on Macclesfield Street in Soho but never seen them any where else.

verdict... massively expensive for what you got. Tasty but tiny.

Martlets hospice in Hove on a Friday has the best ever, however I'll hope it's a good while before I sample again

Brighton Sausage Co do an exceptional traditional sausage roll.

And their sausages are bloody gorgeous too (I particularly recommend trying the wild boar and apple)

I'm away till January 24th. A sausage roll will not pass my lips until that day. This makes me sad.

The Americans found out they existed last week which is good.

Americans really cannot do sausages. I can just about stomach one of their hot dogs so long as it smothered in onions and relish to give it some kind of taste, The ones they serve up at breakfast tend to be fairly shriveled up and disgusting – they always seem to be made from beef and never have a proper sausage skin. I think they know they are shite as they call them links instead of sausages. I have found a great little British store called Myers of Keswick in NYC which does proper Cumberland sausage rolls (and Scotch eggs) – at 4 bucks a pop they aren’t cheap but well worth it when you need reminding of good old Blighty.

Tried Silo sausage rolls earlier in the year - both my boy and I were sick afterwards.

More recently, the best sausage roll I have had came from The Pantry in South Farm Road, Worthing. Really rich pastry and good meat content. £2.20 a go but very filling.

Oh yes.

Best sausage rolls in Brighton, incidentally, are found at the Brighton Sausage Company. IMO, like.

Don't forget the subject matter is DANGEROUS. You will die if you keep eating according to government advice*

* you will die someday of something. Let it be a sausage roll. What a cause of DEATH that would be!

There's a chap doing scotch eggs at that Brooklyn food thingy on Saturdays.
