I once went into the Bat and Ball for a 'nightcap' after the annual Hanover pub crawl. I managed to escape by 2am, but one of my mates crawled home at 6. I've not stepped back into the vortex.

I went into a pub today and it had the World Cup flags up, probably similar to the type mentioned by the OP, I noticed all the Scotland flags were missing though……..imagine my surprise when someone pointed out they are not going to the World Cup finals.
