Was pretty grim watching.

Still waiting for news on Blackwell, thinking it may be on the more serious side. Obviously hoping for the best.

A reminder why fights do generally get stopped much quicker these days. We are often guilty occasionally of being disappointed when fights appear to be stopped early but maybe a sobering example of why it's better to be safe than sorry. Let's hope it's not bad and he makes a full recovery and return to the ring

Ref let Chudinov get his face concaved well into the 12th round. Was sickening.
Must be such a difficult job for Ref's though.

Seeing reports of bleed on the brain for Blackwell.
Potentially just rumours and still waiting for official news.

Ref only kept it going because of his stubbornness towards Eubank snr.

I didn't enjoy the final 2/3 rds. How many of those upper cuts did Blackwell take?

His brain would have been spinning in his skull and he was well beaten by the 7th. His corner should have stopped it if the ref didn't.

Someone should have stopped the Ali v Holmes fight from happening at all.

Trouble is you had that knob Saunders shouting his big mouth off and Blackwells corner didn't want to lose face , that circus in Blackwells corner and at ringside shouldn't have been allowed

Saunders is an arrogant **** and an embarrassment to the sport. Senior did well to restrain himself when the gypsy thug was waiving the belt in front of his face before the start.

Fury was sitting next to Saunders, and were both in Blackwell's corner.

Fury & Saunders are both travellers, Fury belonging to the Irish traveller community (though born in England) and Saunders belonging to the Romani community.

Blackwell isn't a traveller as far as I know. But Saunders will show up to support anyone fighting Jr.

The fight went on three rounds longer than it should. The ref and Blackwell's corner need a good look at themselves.

His corner need to take a long hard look at themselves after that, just watched the re-run and 100% his corner should have called the doctor earlier or thrown the towel in 2-3 rounds earlier after the barrage in the mid rounds.

Hope the guy is alright, boxing is a risky sport but you don't expect this to happen.

Don't expect it? Obviously wish him a full speedy recovery but the idea is to knock your opponent out.

Definitely could have been called earlier by either the corner or referee. Was done by the end of the 7th

Agreed the corner rather than the ref needed to stop the fight. Blackwell was always protecting himself and firing back so tough for the ref to make that call in a championship fight.

It was the cumulative effect of the blows and the sustained head shots which caused the damage and therefore the corner needed to protect their fighter.

Obviously that's why they stand in a ring punching each other but you don't generally expect someone to get a bleed on the brain.. The point is this fight should have been called after the mid rounds, if Eubank had knocked him clean out I dread to think what would have happened, his corner have let him down severely, just hope the guy is alright.

That was a proper tear up by two supreme and gutsy athletes. Hopefully, Blackwell will be okay.

Blackwell looked like he'd gone through the windscreen on his way to picking CEJ from a health spa though.

As for stopping it early, it is a tough call. Blackwell was giving impressions of being fine right to the end. Maybe CEJ's showboating saved him from serious damage at the end. He couldn't even aim punches before the ref stepped in. One more combination could have been really nasty.
