When Chris snr told jnr to take him out with body shots, I thought it was just tactical. Seeing it again and listening and understanding properly, I have even more respect for a man that I have always admired for being a warrior. He is a Gentleman, occasionally a bit of a knob, but that was a classy thing to do.

Would it be impracticable for the doctor to have a look at the end of the round when ever there is blood shed. In his case the corner stemmed the blood flow at the end of each round until Eubank caught him again.
A referee sometimes goes to the corner between rounds to say ' if your guy is taking too many blows without fighting back in the next round, I'm stopping it' which he should have done on this occasion, despite the odd punches that Blackwell through back.

The ironic thing is had his eye not closed so that he was unable to see out of it the doctor wouldmt have been called.

That's precisely the point that I made in an earlier post. Ironic really, if it wasn't for that cut and swollen eye, I wonder where all this would have ended?, with an even bigger hemorrage, and Blackwell dead?

It's probably both. That clip is a selective edit to say the least. Before the final round, Snr said: "I want you to take this guy out - I don't want it to go the distance."

Say Jr had stood off, drawn the final scheduled rounds and then they'd got three judges on the same marching powder as the one who scored Quigg-Frampton a draw. I doubt many people would have given them any credit for putting health concerns over the result. There were about five occasions when Lockett should have thrown in the towel.

I had a lot of respect for Richie Woodall before last night. His reading of the fight was either just very poor or misguided due to a problem with Eubank Snr.

That too can be interpreted both ways, as finish the fight because i' not confident about you winning if it goes to points or fearing a knockout punch thrown by Blackwell to take the fight away from Eubank.

But it could also be to try to protect the other fighter, finish the fight now so that he didn't fight on for another 3 rounds and increase the chance of serious injury, hence why he also said you will take him out with body shots rather than punches to the head.

Given his experience from his own professional career and especially from the Watson fight, it definitely seems more likely that he said it more for the 2nd reason than the 1st, to minimise Blackwell getting badly hurt, hence why he was also calling for the ref to stop it and saying he couldn't understand why he hadn't already.

Yeh we agree on this one.

Was surprised Channel 5 repeated the fight on their plus 24 channel tonight but it allowed me to see the build-up. What utter plonkers Fury and Saunders behaved like and Chris Snr showed a lot of class just standing there, smiling and dignified supporting his lad.

Hope Jnr has another chance to take down Saunders before too long. A Brighton sportsman to be proud of.

It didn't appear to be on their schedules for rebroadcast tonight on their +24 service. It looked like they were going to show the movies that were scheduled for tonight on the normal channel 5 instead.

I guess that the decision to show the fight on their +24 service was only taken after it became clear that Blackwell was safe / recovering and the news came out that the slight bleed on the brain hadn't developed into anything worse whilst he was in the induced coma at hospital.

I dont think that applied as although well behind on points Blackwell was still able to throw a few punches, although with little effect.

Things looking slightly positive for Nick.
Hoping to be brought around sometime tomorrow if condition improves as it has been.

Hoping for the best.

Was that when he was being managed by Keith Miles or had he moved on to Barry Hearn?
https://nortr3nixy.nimpr.uk/showt...ce-tried-to-sue-Chris-Eubank-for-%A35-million

I cannot be sure, he seemed to be close to an Arab looking guy at the time, I remember going to one of his fights at the Brighton Centre and things seemed to very quickly progress, he would just pop in to my business and me and him used to chat.

Nice guy, slightly odd/eccentric and was desperate to be acclaimed and be recognised and that seemed to stay with him ;)

Give it a couple of weeks and he will be calling Eubank out for a re-match

Well, he's not doing that but he has been on TV calling The Eubanks disrespectful and Inhuman for talking to the media while he was in a Coma.

I thought they handled it with dignity and respect myself.

Blimey he's a bitter idiot then. If the boot was on the other foot I doubt he would have gone into silent mode out of respect.

Some PR agency have put him up to it with money in appearance fees no doubt. Surprised he has done, or maybe I'm not.
