It’s not the obvious inaccuracy that makes me dislike it .

It’s the ridiculous music, the poor pacing, the thinly fleshed out, one dimensional characters, the fact that they have made someone as briliant as Paddy Mayne into a shouty, dislikable thug. The bad acting. It’s a mess.

Bit like most Hollywood action movies then!

What’s your take on Playing Nice? I thought the end was absolute SHITE!

In fact I thought the whole series was hard to take seriously in the way the two couples interacted.

I quite like it for a bit of escapism. And it's a nice touch the way they splice in real footage.
Mrs Bulb likes it and she's been fairly silent whilst watching. No interruptions, no questions, no having to explain anything. For that alone it gets a thumbs up from me!!

Exactly. As for the music, what’s not to like about a bit of Sham 69 in a period drama? It’s something different, and I quite liked it!

Some of the men portrayed had colourful lives it seems. The real Reg Seekings for example, survived an attack on truck carrying his platoon because he got out to adjust the tail gate, one of only two survivors out of 24. In France he was shot in the neck, just missing his spine, he lived the rest of his life with the bullet lodged in him! A charmed life indeed.

Not sure that they were involved after the initial drive and immediate lead up to Berlin.
I could be wrong here, but the top brass might have considered their work (SAS) done by
then. I do seem to remember them being dropped behind German enemy lines later on, but for intelligence
and sabotage stuff only with the resistance.

After D-Day The SAS were parachuted in, further behind enemy lines in France to assist the Maquis with resistance and guerilla warfare.

No doubt RH3 will portray this secretive, subtle warfare to a rollicking soundtrack of Borstal Breakout.

As others have said an enjoyable escapism watch and binged watched all on Sunday when weather was awful. Look forward to a third series

We Have Ways podcast covers the new series this week.

Their take on it is good. I agree with some of their points such as Paddy Mayne is done a disservice by being made so unlikeable.

Other points I disagree with but that’s the fun of it all.
