Another year on loan seems likely, another top 5 league where he'd get to play more would be optimal. Somewhere like... St Pauli?

He's 22 now and needs to start playing regularly if he's going to reach the top. Didn't break into our team, not into WBAs team, not into Ipswich team... and now everyone is excited to see him back?

His reputation is a lot better than most of the things he's shown on a pitch. I'll be very surprised if we have room for him once transfer business is done.

Wouldn't do McKenna any favours now.
Why? If it benefits us as a club then Bloom will take the emotion out of it and do what he thinks is best.

He was a regular in the match day squad in the 22-23 season until he got injured. His development at 20 looked to be going well. Breaking his metatarsal on international duty set him back massively and gave others a chance to surpass him.

He didn’t set the world alight at West Brom and it was always going to be tough for him to come into an Ipswich side that was going well but he was still a key part of their promotion winning squad even if he was mainly used as a sub.

It will be interesting to see what our plans with him are, I like many others think he’s got a future here. He’d certainly be a useful player to have off the bench at least. With hindsight he’d have probably got as much football last season here because of injury that he did out on loan.

I don’t get the excitement either. Some very nice technical skills, but he didnt ever seem to transfer that into effective attacking play when with us.

As you say, the fact that he was never a regular starter in the Championship is telling. A genuine Premier League prospect should be tearing defences a new arsehole at that level.

Lost to Argentina in penalties so I guess a couple of weeks off and back for pre-season.

His dad spoke recently saying that he has offers but prefers to stay in Brighton.

I hope so. I like him. Think he'll make a good squad player for us.

Just don’t see where he fits in the new system. Similar to Buonanotte. Neither are great on the wing and doesn’t look like they’ll be an out and out number 10 in the new system. Wouldn’t have either of them as one of the midfield either… so, where do they play?

I don't see a way he's going to get anywhere near the first team.

Needs to get ahead of Enciso and Goodnight, Pedro at 10, and Mitoma, Solly, Minteh, Adingrah, Osman (is that his name?), Barco + Enciso and Goodnight Off the flanks,

Maybe with us until Jan if the injuries remain pervasive to Solly and Mitoma but with people fit he won't be anywhere near it. He's getting too old for being 6th choice.

Unless we sell a couple,... I wonder if Adingra may be surplus.... maybe Solly too...maybe Buonotte

You don’t know what the new system is yet , so how do you know if they will fit in or not

Because we know his St Pauli system?
I get the impression that while hurzeler has principles of how he wants to play he's not wedded to a formation. If there's a better formation for the players he actually has he'll use it.
There's a hell of a lot of running for a lot of the players however he sets up so I'm thinking plenty of players will be getting decent minutes off the subs bench.

For me he looked a far better player in his first run of games than Enciso or Buononotte. Injury then set him back.I'd rather have him on the wing if needed then Buononotte again

Managers are capable of changing system, if he thinks players here are better suited in another style I’m sure he will change.
The podcast is a good listen where he says the formation is more a media thing
