We should only sell him with a by back to avoid another Viktor Gyökeres situation.
Yes you’ve missed someoneWe have so many options up front that I can only see very limited game time for him.
Adingra, Minteh, Mitoma, Joao Pedro, Welbeck, Ferguson, Rutter, Enciso. ( have I missed anyone?) for 4 forward places.
Im sure it was mentioned on here we had some sort of buy back clause on Gyokeres, he rejected the offer we made him and joined Sporting. We should only sell him with a by back to avoid another Viktor Gyökeres situation.
Why? He had two Championship loans last season and was unable to break into the regular starting 11 for either. His father recently said they had widespread European interest if he couldn’t break into our first team. Mildly surprising if the championship is the best offer we get.
I'm sure it can. It (as in all contracts) is what's in the small print that we put in.Im sure it was mentioned on here we had some sort of buy back clause on Gyokeres, he rejected the offer we made him and joined Sporting.
A buy back is only any use if the player wants to rejoin us. They can’t be forced to make the move.
The buy back clause, wether it be first option or match best offer are agreed between the two clubs when agreeing a transfer.I'm sure it can. It (as in all contracts) is what's in the small print that we put in.
A good loan might improve his value - how long is he contracted to us? Maybe in a decent league abroad, as he wasn't hugely successful in the Championship, although he did OK at Ipswich.
OK, fair enough - the clubs can agree what they like, but the player can refuse an offer. Like several might do if they're on Chelsea wages for the next five or six years! The buy back clause, wether it be first option or match best offer are agreed between the two clubs when agreeing a transfer.
The player will still retain their freedom of choice when it comes to accepting or rejecting a contract offer to return to their old club, if said club, decides to exercise the clause. Anything else would be against employment law in pretty much every country in the world.
Another way of looking at it is:We have so many options up front that I can only see very limited game time for him.
Adingra, Minteh, Mitoma, Joao Pedro, Welbeck, Ferguson, Rutter, Enciso. ( have I missed anyone?) for 4 forward places.
I’d like to think that a Premier League player’s Agent, charging hundreds of thousands of pounds, would probably read the small print.I'm sure it can. It (as in all contracts) is what's in the small print that we put in.

Yes, they probably should - and would. That one hasn't been written yet though!I’d like to think that a Premier League player’s Agent, charging hundreds of thousands of pounds, would probably read the small print.
This with bells on6m decent , isn’t up to it imo
Agree. Very good point. It is absolutely insane that we seem to have outgrown players like Jeremy Sarmiento.
I’ve been going since 1989. I’m trying to think about how many seasons JS wouldn’t have been the first name on the team sheet in that time. Possibly for the two seasons we had Zamora, the first tim around? Where he would have been the 2nd name on the team sheet. Apart from that, there is last season, and probably the season before. That’s it. And now we’re too good for him.
It’s absolutely mental.
Indeed. How could I miss Solly, and Gruda of course.Yes you’ve missed someone
I'm afraid I agree. People's fondness of him has always seemed more emotional al than evidence based. I totally get it. I do it all the time. Get enthralled to a player based on potential and how I imagine them. But in all the games I've seen him he's technically decent but way off our squad. I wonder be surprised to see him settle at championship level. This with bells on
Agree. Runs around a lot and presses well (Fab probably likes that) but his decision making always seems suspect and final ball not great. The fact he couldn’t get regular starts in his championship loans tells us all we need to know reallyI'm afraid I agree.
