One of the best I ever saw was done deliberately to show the 9/11 idiots just how wrong they were. Someone mocked up a series of youtube videos showing, with fabricated footage, how it was impossible for the towers to have fallen as they did. Within 24 hours it had been picked up and reposted on sites like above top secret. The bloke then came into the open and expalined EXACTLY how he had made the film and how those who believed it were simply being silly. He made it and he knew exactly how the fabrication had taken place. He explained in great detail.

You can guess the result. Not a single CTer was convinced. Some told him that he was mistaken and the video was obviously true, despite him providing comprehensive proof that he had made it. Others told him that he was a zog stooge and was deliberately lying to discredit the cters. Not a one of them put their hands up and said 'You know what, you got me. I accept the video was a moderately clever fake and I accept what you are saying'. Last I heard, and this was some 3 years after he made the video, it was still being cited on ct websites as PROOF that 9/11 was an inside job.

And what? This is proof that it was not?

I know what some people can be like when it comes to the question of conspiracy, but the weight you give to this story in proving some kind of point is actually as weak as the very people you are using it to criticize.

methinks you miss the point made by a country mile. :lolol:

Brightonrock, you've missed a step: drawing links to other unrelated conspiracies which proves they were both planned by the same group to the same purpose. this reinforces both theories since they are both true and join together so must be true.

The issue isn't as to whether or not it happened. As it most certainly did. It's in how it was reported and were all reports properly investigated.

Sadly investigative journalism has been replaced by sensationalist journalism.

I've yet been able to find a truly decent article where a journo has in the old style investigative journalism tackled the event.

It's all been "OMG lots of people got killed, lets all ban guns" populist type journalism.

There is no point, that is the point.

Something which was believed to be true by some people, turned out not to be true.

What does this mean? That everything is not true? That anything believed to be true is not true?

I could point out a misleading or incorrect news story, which consumers of that news media believed. It would not mean therefore that all news stories are incorrect or misleading, or that anything the consumers of that news media believed to be true must not be true.

Always with the fallacious arguments.

You are just like what you call "conspiracy theorists", except that instead of calling people who disagree with you "sheep", you call them "idiots".

Go on then.

By rather more than that I think Beorthelm :lolol:

You really couldn't make it up could you. Except of course dingodan and the truth usually do. :lolol:

Edit to add.

The point, for those to stupid to understand, is that someone deliberately created a hoax video to 'prove' the twins towers was a faked inside job. He then revealed that he had created a hoax video, explained how he had done it in detail and explained in very simple terms why he had done it. The stupid people who believe these things refused to believe that the man who made the video had made a hoax video and accused him of being wrong about the video that HE HAD f***ing WELL CREATED. Because the stupid people who believe these things would prefer to lie to themselves and pretend the creator of the video didn't create it than accept they were so f***ing stupid that they believed an obvious hoax video.

Now do you possibly begin to understand the point that I, piggy backing on the original work of the video creator, am making?

I agree.

Not many real journalists around anymore.

Ben Swann is good.

Right, I don't care what is believed, facts are facts, anything else is speculation. Anybody speculating could be right or wrong, but the only proof is fact.... the only facts I know in regards this are numerous people were shot dead at a school. Everything else is unproven... RIP those people
