No, we announced something that wasn't finalised. We look very stupid.

I know you've made a backtrack edit now, but I understand that...

- Sammy Lee had accepted the Albion job and done so in writing.
- Sammy Lee had reviewed and agreed the Albion press release on Friday concerning his appointment.

The Albion, as ever, have tried to act properly and decently, and that's how it should be. It's a shame that others do not act the same.

Well that's annoying, unfortunately this means that we aren't the exciting prospect in football that we were when Poyet was appointed, unfortunately clubs that have more money are/spend a lot of money on players are

However don't forget we thought he was the right man for the job and appointed him, within two days we have found out that he is a complete weasel. Doesn't say much for our due diligence or choice in personnel. For me it is extremely embarrassing and the club look tin pot

Messers Bloom and Barber will be rightly pissed off about this, and I don't suppose Suspol will be cheered by the news either.

Dunno what all the fuss is about. His actions prove he was the wrong man for the job, good riddance.

Shares of "Locking Hubcaps South East" have dropped with this news.

I disagree. Everyone thinks they have a lovely dog until it bites.

Do me a favour you plonker - just because someone receives and takes up a job offer to join a Premier League club rather than join us doesn't mean our wheels are falling off. I think you've made yourself look very foolish ! :wrong:

No, it is Lee who looks tinpot. Due diligence - has he a track record of doing this then?

There's a lot of entirely justified vitriol targeted at Lee on here. However, let's not forget that Southampton have behaved less than honourably too. From the club statement:

"....having been offered a job...after it was announced that he had agreed to join Albion as assistant manager..." (my emphasis)

Perhaps it will be a marriage made in heaven.

In hindsight I look stupid!

It seems Lee has been a total arse, just one more reason to dislike all things Liverpool I guess.

Full marks and respect for the edit, but why were you so quick to criticise the club in the first place without knowing the facts first?

Many others do it too, so this isn't a personal dig at you. I just don't understand the willingness of some to criticise at every opportunity without knowing the facts.

And, unlike you, most of them aren't prepared to admit they were wrong.

If anything, the sudden interest of a top flight club, with incredible respect for its ability to harvest home grown players, suggests that initially we made the right decision.

Indeed.
At least the ****ish ****'s statement entirely exonerates the club and makes him and
the scummers look the ****ing ****s they are. ..... .... and if I did ever read the Sun I would be just as pissed at them for having the temerity to suggest that WE would be the ones with red faces!!!!! :lolol:

(not that I feel at all strongly about their behaviour)

I've known a couple of situations like this over the years from the world i work in. What usually happens is that the Lee character's reputation is destroyed and the place he shafted gets someone better. No one with sense will see the Albion as to blame in any of this. We move on.
