Apparently the cabbie has never been seen again - so I doubt it.Well let's see if her partner is charged with criminal damage.

I don’t disagree that all racism is wrong. I just don’t think all racism is equal.I don’t know whether or not you are wrong but I disagree with your central argument. Abusing someone because of the colour of their skin is wrong and it is racism. One reason racists still get away with being racists is because aome people try and differentiate between who it was said to, how it was said or under what circumstances.
Racism is wrong under all circumstances. There should be no ifs or buts.
According to the fox sports article someone posted earlier.Well let's see if her partner is charged with criminal damage.
I don’t disagree that all racism is wrong. I just don’t think all racism is equal.
I also don’t think that racism of this level (mild, said while sitting down and not in an aggressive manner) normally results in a criminal conviction.
I’d also be tempted to believe that the reference to being white is more about ‘you don’t understand what I’m explaining because you’re white
The devil is always in the detail. From the Fox news link posted earlier.
However, an initial statement from PC Lovell on the incident didn't make mention of the “stupid and white” comment and no case was brought. The case only went ahead when he submitted a second statement 11 months later that contained the comment.
Thank goodness for the jury system as 12 people actually had all the facts presented and could make an informed decision. Not sure why some folk feel the need to have a melt down when justice has been done according to the law.
That was basically her defence I think:
She denied using whiteness as an insult and claimed: "I believed it was him using his power and privilege over me because he was accusing me of being something I'm not.
"I was trying to express that due to the power and privilege they had, they would never have to understand what we had just gone through and the fear we were having for our lives."
‘Positionality’I am genuinely not saying this in an antagonizing way, and I may be completely wrong, but I am assuming that you are a white male. I would argue that your perspective is demonstrative of that particular positionality. Were you a non-white woman who may have endured a lifetime of unfairness, your different experiences may have shaped your perspective differently. I await being shot down in flames.
White male, yeah. Can't say if my perspective would be different, just saying that a white person calling someone stupid and black, a person of colour calling someone stupid and white, irrespective of whether they are male, female, or had experienced racism or sexism before is still a racism right?I am genuinely not saying this in an antagonizing way, and I may be completely wrong, but I am assuming that you are a white male. I always had a sneaking suspicion that you would benefit from psychiatric assistance, now I'm certain!I WOULD
Hmmm. Enough to make her or her buddy puke in the car and break a window? No one was in trial for the offences against the cabbie or criminal damage. Not sure of the background to that decision (maybe there was evidence that the cabbie drove like a nutter with them in the car).
Just to support your argument. I’d much rather her call me ‘stupid and white’ than something like:Racism against people who don’t normally experience racism and have not had their lives affected by it is not the same as racism against someone who suffers from it regularly and has had their life affected by it (in my opinion).
Also, it was quite mild racism ‘stupid and white’ said in a petulant way while sitting down and I’m not sure equivalent examples result in criminal charges. I’m happy to be proven wrong on this point if anyone has examples.
The puking came first. The breaking the window (by Kerr’s partner not Kerr) came after the alleged crazy driving. I have no idea of what actually happened in the taxi, I just know that for some reason the decision was taken not to charge anyone over it.Hmmm. Enough to make her or her buddy puke in the car and break a window?
It would actually be ‘you don’t understand because you’re stupid and white’ which means she thinks most white people would understand (and all non-white people). I don’t think that is racist (whether that’s what she genuinely meant is a separate argument). The impact on people of racism has got to be easier to understand if you are the victim of racism yourself.Let me stop you there. "You don't understand because you're white", is racist.
Like an idiot teaching assistant who called my son white privileged.
Oh dig deeper why don't you! Condescending and patronising is how I see your opinion right now! You don't have to be a victim of racism to understand what it is..........PffftIt would actually be ‘you don’t understand because you’re stupid and white’ which means she thinks most white people would understand (and all non-white people). What the teaching assistant said to your son sounds completely wrong. Did you report it to the school and did anything happen?
