My Grandad, who was responsible for me supporting the Seagulls, died yesterday after a long illness.

Although German, he lived in Sussex since WWII and was a passionate supporter of the Seagulls for well over 50 years. He took me to games when I was a nipper, which was always quite an experience. He never quite got to grips with the severity of his language and used to say some rather 'controversial' things while in the North Stand. Yet, he was disarming with his charm at the same time and it was hard not to laugh at some of the things he said.

RIP - safe in the knowledge that Brighton were promoted in the last few days of your life!

Sorry to hear this mate. I am sure it will still be looking down on you and the Albion from the Falmer in the sky.

Be glad that he was responsible for you following the Albion and that in his final days, The Albion said goodbye to him in spectacular fashion.

Sincere condolences to you and your family.
