Classic Boycott on TMS.

'Have you ever scored a century here Geoff?'

"No but I did save a test here once, with 76 no".

Very gracious there Geoff, I'm sure nobody else contributed to that draw.

To be fair, England with six wickets down (and batting one man short) were hanging on, 180 shy of the SA total - the next highest score after Boycott's 76* was 22. So he did play the biggest part in the second innings. But Parfitt's century and Barrington's 93 played a massive part in ensuring the two teams weren't far apart after the first innings.

With Boycott and Kenny Barrington in the same side, it's a wonder how any match got completed. They were both notorious blockers.

England had some good stroke makers though: Smith, Dexter, Parfitt and Parks weren't blockers.

Ah spoil the illusion Gwylan.
I had you in your library, sat in your armchair, puffing on your pipe, leafing through your leather bound Wisdens.

Yes deffo.
Either father and uncle or both uncles, which I guess stands to reason.

Shaun is Peter's son and Graeme's nephew

For those who are too young to remember, Graeme Pollock was a very, very, very fine batsman. Second behind Bradman in the all-time averages list (some way behind), he could make good bowlers look like mugs.

listened to the Radio today, quick question, was Cooks dismissal as blatant a No Ball as the commentators were banging in about?
