I apologise for not looking through what I assume to be 9 or so pages of insults/moans/Amex catering put-downs/murmurings of uncertainty over the true value of Craig Mackail-Smith but would one of you be so kind to clarify the situation with Harley? We missed out on him in Jan and he instead joined Swansea (?) before being loaned back to Exeter where he finished the season. What exactly is the rumour?

Rumour is that we're back in for him. We want him on a perm and Harley wants a loan

Latest I heard was that, We're trying to sign him on a permanent but Swansea would rather decide their squad before making a decision, Poyet isn't really keen on a loan but might have to settle for it.

If the bloke wants to be sure he's going to have a future playing at a high level, I wouldn't blame him for not wanting to commit to be honest.
It's better than being a wantaway as soon as the going gets tough and maybe we falter.
The guy is dropping a division, wants success, and has ambition? Loan before contract is a fair-enough request in my opinion.

Plus, he doesn't know Gus or how he works yet does he? So - an unknown entity for him as well.
