Lots of internal debates between US Republicans about Ukraine. Here's a senator who strongly supports Ukraine.

Thank you for posting. Really powerful & moving speech to which all western leaders should listen. Can he convince Trump & his fellow Republicans, hope so.

Yes 👍, there are other (many?) Republican senators that are vocally (and that's important) pro supporting Ukraine. It's certainly not obvious what the US stance will be under Trump.

Drone development. Fao @Triggaaar as discussed a day or two ago.
There's also involvement (I don't know if it's the same scheme) from Sweden:

More evidence of 'fur coat no knickers' from Russia:

The 'new' Oreshnik missile might not be as new as Putin suggested.

The ruble has drifted down again, back to near 104, but there seems to be resistance at this level.

1 USD = 103.997 RUB

I am not surprised one bit. I thought at the time this won’t be what Putin claims.

He just so happens to have a “brand new, unstoppable, super weapon” a few days after Ukraine strike Russia? Chinny reckon.

Senators are on 6 year terms, they're not really beholden to Trump. Trumps power will slowly go down from here on out, his name will never again appear on a ballot and his supporters have shown they mainly come out when he is running.

Here's some very interesting detail about how the Russian economy is affecting key business areas.

There's a lot of real meat in this article. Something that I've been conscious that we lack on here, as Russia conceals/distorts the bad news.

Gazprom, Russia's largest company (=Russia's most successful company), has now posted a loss of $6.1 billion, it's first annual loss in 20 years. As Gazprom is co-owned by the Russian government, that comes off the money left to fund the war. God bless Gazprom.

Rosneft Oil, the next largest, is no longer publishing data on its oil exports and production volumes 'to protect Russia's national interests'. We all know what that means. The figures are dire and will spook the market even more.

This is all very encouraging. It does seem that Russia is really collapsing.

big trouble with collapses is that a vacuum is left. I’m not for one moment wanting Putin to remain, far from it, but the old adage ‘be careful what you wish for’ hangs heavy over Russia

I know what you mean. Local warlords, suddenly free of the Russian jackboot, sense a power vacuum in Moscow, and eye up the loose nukes left behind.

But given how Putin has behaved in his liberation of Ukraine, I would prefer it if any loose nukes were to fall into the hands of an Islamic fundamentalist from
Bashkortostan. With any luck, after centuries of oppression from the Russians, they would point the nukes on Moscow, and Putin would find out how it feels.
