Peter Zeihan puts the meat on the bones of the Ukrainian attack on one of the lines on the Trans-Siberian rail link to China a month ago.

It's a less than 6 minute watch and well worth it.

We are on holiday in India at the moment and had an interesting moment yesterday. Had some young kids come up to us yesterday, asking for chocolate (not sure how they would expect it to be solid, it's bloody hot) and/or rupees. They said to us that the British hate Russians and asking if it that was the case. Made me wonder if that was a narrative that is being spun to them. I know India is still actively trading with Russia and you do get a few that holiday out here.

I've noticed several Indian Youtube videos which report the war in a very different way to western ones. Their agenda is a clear 'Russia is winning and Ukraine losing' one.

It's quite an eye-opener. I guess it means Russia is looking east and south for friends and trading partners. All the more reason for Ukraine to take out Russian rail lines to the south of the Trans-Siberian railway.

Didn't the Indian Govt. support Russia in votes at the UN in the early days or at least abstain?

I'm sorry but I don't know. I expect their voting record is available online somewhere.

India will act in its own interests of course. Regrettably, it would seem to be putting humanitarian considerations to one side and taking advantage of the cheap oil and other natural resources that the collapsing ruble and declining commodity prices are presenting.

They are also part of BRICS which is also why you mostly see Brazil sitting on the fence regarding the conflict.

I have never viewed BRICS like that. I've only ever known it as a group name for 'developing countries' for adventurous investors. This was somewhat naive of me.

And I see Saudi Arabia, Iran, Ethiopia, Egypt, Argentina and UAE have recently joined.

I believe the new Argentine President Milei withdrew the entry to join BRICS.
But yeah, I think Russia/China see this as building a new World order.

As a group of "developing" countries, it would seem odd to include a country who's economy is best known for finding ever more ludicrous ways to verge on complete collapse.
But hey, they've already got Russia in there. What do I know?

Quite a long article, but detailed observations about recent activity and possible future movements on multiple fronts. Not particularly optimistic sadly, but no obvious prospect of major Russian advances either. The Dnipro bridgehead seems the most positive, challenge obviously is to move heavier equipment over and the resupply of those units

That’s a negative, and right now I need two positives.

Unconfirmed, unverified rumour that Russian General Gerasimov was killed in a missile strike in Crimea:

I've no idea of the provenance of this Youtuber or the evidence.
