Putin needs to stop firing missiles before he even contemplates asking for peace talks doesn't he ?

Of course. They’re empty words, although could be the slightest first hints that they could really do with the war ending sooner rather than later.

Putin is only making overtures for negotiations because he is out of ammo, and can see Ukraine will soon retake most or all the territory he has occupied.

He is offering to meet Biden, in an attempt to create a divide in the western alliance with Zelensky, who has already said 'no' to negotiations.

In Russia’s interest to keep making it about them vs “the West”, rather than Ukraine.
If only there was something Russia could do to put 'an end to the war...

Like, I dunno, leave Ukraine?

I’d heard that Zalinski had had peace talks earlier in the year brokered by Turkey but Boris told him not to

I suspect these tweets together tell a story. If China pull the plug, Russia are ****ed. They know it.

Could also explain why Lavrov has rowed back the nuclear rhetoric a little today, clarifying their doctrine means they will only use nuclear if specifically threatened by nuclear attack.

I have to wonder if Xi has had a very serious word.

Almost certainly. China likes order. Nuclear war is anything but. It allows their poodle in Pyongyang to play dictators and wind up the US, but if they thought they were ever likely to use it they’d be taking Kim Jong Un out faster than he can say “I’ll have extra cheese on that”.

Russia is ####ed. Sad for the 90% of the Russian population who detest Putin as much as 99.999% of the rest of the world.
The only solution will come over Putins dead body.

Trolls who can't spell the bile they're spouting really are the pits.

Alongside pretty much every American president since Kennedy, and Tony Blair
.....and don't even know who was or was not an American president, eh Tovarich?

Has your location always been set to Moscow or is this since you've moved from imparting your MMT knowledge from another thread? If you're referring to the president of Ukraine in your post it's spelt 'Zelenskyy'. I hope that helps to improve your knowledge
