As regards financial matters in Russia I see that the Times is reporting that the Russian courts have fined Google for removing / banning Russian media from YouTube. Apparently the fine was £15.4 decillion which equates to15 followed by 33 zeros - which is more than the world’s combined wealth and the grains of sand on earth. Based on current earnings it would take Google 56 septillion years to repay it.

In other circumstances I’d find this hilarious, but in the context of the Ukrainian war one can only despair at the ridiculous lengths that the Putin regime goes to.

I see too that Joe Blogs is reporting the imminent demise of Gazprom (50% government owned) even though it has 25% of the world’s gas resources. Evidence perhaps that sanctions are working.

Yes, I agree there is a lot to digest there. I'm finding that Broe is very wide ranging and in depth too - I like his videos a lot but one needs a pot of tea and 30 spare minutes for them.
I'm sure there are many (most?) Russian hating Slovaks. All the Hungarians I ever met were great and I can't imagine they'd have voted in Orban. I think you and I need to expand our social circles to meet the other 51% .
What can the EU do about Orban and Fico ? No idea. Kick them out? stop funding them? It's nightmarish to me.

The US restriction on long range strikes has all been a western ploy to push Ukraine to build it's own...who'd have thought

Indeed, the manpower mismatch is a huge problem...that the west could part (a big part) solve by faster supplies of shells and air defense

Assuming the west is not going to step up the pace any time soon, we are left hoping for a lucky hit on Putin, an unforeseen political upheaval in Moscow, or an economic event that might see a change in regime.

Or has been speculated, the far east (South Korea) enters the fray with a steady supply of shells and other weaponry specifically designed for North Korea.

Yes, if S Korea don't start weapon supply it'll be pathetic frankly - strong words backed up by zero action is just a green light for further action from Putin and his allies

As desperation builds, we should watch for more Russian disinformation.

Well, there's a reason for that. It's because they will find it difficult to travel to visit other Siberian regions to plan any co-ordinated unrest. There are few roads and the limited railway system is tightly controlled.

I abhor the loss of life in this war on both sides. I’m sure the typical Russian and N Korean soldiers are just ordinary guys being thrown into a war that they’d rather not be in. But there’s a part of me that hopes the story is true.
