I would think there's a very good chance of that.

I'm reminded of another reason that was pointed out a few days ago, why we should do everything to prevent a Russian victory in Ukraine.

It's because Russia would then force 40 million Ukrainians to be cannon fodder for the Russian Federation to swallow its next victim.

i.e., Use them to ramp up their production of arms and defences etc - much like Hitler did.

I'm no Russian history expert but the only withdrawal (not defeat, so just like Vietnam) the Russians have ever made (in the last 100 years anyway) was Afghanistan in the 1980s when the penny dropped that the Mujahedeen were never going to be properly defeated [took 10 years for that to happen, mind].

Can only hope this happens soon in Ukraine and the Russians all go home.
