Reports that Russia are now claiming that arms shipments from NATO/western countries are now considered to be legitimate military targets.

Would Putin actually launch attacks outside of Ukraine? Maybe upon aircraft?

That makes all Putins armed forces in Ukraine targets.

He'd best not attack NATO convoys, but if he does oh well.

More to do with convoys inside Ukraine they are threatening about by the looks of it?

Whenever Russia makes an announcement like that, I read it as confirmation that the thing they are seeking to stop, is hurting them. So let's increase the arms shipments.

I thought the same when Putin made a speech and said 'no more sanctions', and accompanied it with an unspecified threat. The obvious response was to increase sanctions.

Not sure how clever it is to threaten arms shipments to Ukraine...lots of refugees and aid convoys going backwards and forwards. How does Russia safely identify an arms convoy correctly without risking yet another War Crimes violation?

You think Putin gives a toss about that?

No. He won’t.

Clearly, if the west are shipping arms to the Ukraine, Russia will target those shipments once they enter the Ukraine. There is a line however. They could bomb the **** out of Ukrainian border towns, that would not be attacking a NATO member.

Why would he stop now? Hospitals seem to be fair game to this prick, a convoy won't matter. In for a penny.....

Maybe. But I doubt it. Unless Putin is a mental, which I don't believe he is, he will realise that attacking Nato assets will bring the wrath of the world down on him. He's struggling to take a few cities in one country, unless he goes nuclear Russia would be ashes in days.

'Russia's Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu must have allowed publication in the media of a document calling for the dismissal of officers involved in strikes on civilian targets'

If true, then what does this mean?

Tim White asks if he's scared of The Hague, or positioning himself to take over from Putin.

But it might also just be:

1) more passing the shit downwards. Putin has already sacked several generals and FSB staff, so Shoigu could be joining in avoiding the blame.
2) a difference of opinion in the inner circle....
3) some front line units are out of control / disobeying orders / or perhaps the comms don't work.

How does the world arrive at the scenario that Putin apologies, says "about turn" and promises not to do it again and then doesn't?

I can't see it. The only solution involves a woodchipper.
