Reports suggests that middle-eastern fighters are signing up for both sides. Great, just what Europe needs, a load of Islamists running around. After keeping them out, ISIS get an open invitation to come to the party.

:ffsparr:

er, not really. the Syrians will be government recruits/supporters, which were anti-ISIS.

it is is very tinpot pulling in these foriegn forces, shows the amassed army wasnt sufficient, they dont want to risk other army resources.

The largest nuclear power plant in Europe at Zaporozhye, that last week the Russians fired missiles at, today they now claim it's Russian and transfer it's ownership?

Nicking a nuclear power plant? We've got to sort this prick out.

Is this the time to mention that when so many western firms and companies have pulled out / stopped supplying / suspended services to Russia, Marks & Spencer has refused to close its stores and continues to operate. They seem to believe that collecting for Ukraine at the checkouts is an adequate substitute for them to continuing to trade.

The CEO of M&S is Steve Rowe and his email address is:

steve.rowe@marks-and-spencer.com

I hope many others will join me in lobbying Mr Rowe in the hope that he understands that the stance being taken by his organisation is supporting a brutal, murderous regime.

I agree with the principle, but, as unlikely as it sounds, M&S doesn’t actually own its stores in Russia. It’s a franchise set up - think they’re owned by a Turkish company. M&S do supply the products and I believe they have stopped supplying those. But the franchise owner will own current inventory, the stores, and the rights to use the name in Russia. So it’s their call on whether to keep the stores open. The Times this week quoted a source there as saying ‘stores will probably continue to operate for a period as the franchise partner sells the stock it owns but will shut over time without replacement items to sell. So if you’re lobbying for the stores to shut its the franchise partner you need to target (FIBA they are called) as they own the business not M&S.

There were reports that the Ukrainians were accepting middle-eastern fighters as well. Whichever side takes them, you can be guaranteed that some dodgy sorts are turning up.

Strong condemnation from Macron, of our handling of Ukraine refugees:

'Macron says UK failing to live up to its ‘grand statements’ on Ukraine refugees' - Guardian.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...ns-uk-grand-statements-ukraine-refugee-crisis

Putin said that the leadership in Ukraine was a Nazi regime. Macron called him out.

Our PM said we have done most for refugees in Europe since 2015 (Germany have take 1m compared to our 90k), it’s little wonder that Macron is questioning this lie too.

Johnson didn't actually lie in this instance, he stated that the UK had done more to resettle refugees than any other country in Europe, which is in fact true, but will mislead many.
Resettle in this case means take someone that has refugee status in Lebanon, and give them refugee status in the UK. We have done this for 25,000 which is a few thousand more than Germany or France, which have both granted asylum to hundreds of thousands more refugees than us overall.

Today spoke to friends now in Poland and said could stay with us. She said many from Ukraine do not want to come to England as want to be as near to home as possible when they can return

Makes sense. If it were happening here I would prefer to be in France than the Ukraine as I have been to the former many times because it is nearby.

Absolutely. We have family now fleeing the war in Kishinev and Bucharest. We have also arranged for nephews ex wife and her son to fly to Dublin on Thursday and she will settle there for a while, the good thing being its only an hour from Manchester by plane so my wife can visit her regularly and help with any problems.
