Theres a 40 miles long convoy picked up on satellite, as we speak other eastern EU nations are donating about 20 odd Mig 29 and SU25 as the Ukrainians are used to them. They need to smash that convoy, let every russian moving forward, see what await them. I dont worry for Kyiv right now, Russians are waiting to move troops from East and south first I think, with just missles in mean time, but this is the time to hammer that convoy N of capital.

I am surprised they've been a sitting duck there for 2 days now without any action ?

You may well be right but militarily it still piss poor.

Having a military convoy that’s is many miles in length is not good military planning. If Ukraine has more drones it will become very messy.

Yes, I guess the Ukrainians don't have to destroy it completely. Just hit it at the right points and it will just end up not being able to go anywhere.

The logistics are poor too. Several tanks have run out of fuel, including the one the farmer towed away. Captured soldiers are hungry.

They are wandering into shops in the south asking for food (being refused of course). But I worry seriously about another surge from the south...they are consolidating along the coast.

I agree - it must be the logistics of getting either armed drones into position (short range?), and/or getting Ukraine piloted jets armed and protected safely. The convoy look like sitting ducks but it must be a logistical challenge to attack, as Russia must have a large capability near their now to shoot down aircraft.

I think if Putin captures the South Coast - maybe up to Crimea or maybe the full coast that is his minimum "face save win".

Not sure if (a) he'll manage it (b) the Ukrainians will accept that as "war over".

A lot of unknowns.

UN just said 660,000 refugees left Ukraine since Thursday.

We should do all we can to assist them, whether it is helping at the point or countries of entry or offering sanctuary here.

Where is the line drawn in the future then? If the world sits by and watches that, then why not Finland or Latvia in the future?

I don't know. But I do know that I have absolutely no desire to see me and my family perish in a nuclear holocaust.

Right lads, into battle we go. Have you all eaten your 7 year old crackers ?
Lol.

Someone obviously took the cash designated for more up to date rations and let the old stuff stay in the warehouse.

An army can't be run if the budgets are siphoned off into corrupt pockets.

I work in tech / internet industry and there is quite a bit of talk of disconnecting Russian networks from the 'rest of the world' - not sure if it would really happen in full as it is to complex - but if enough did it it'd really constrain bandwidth and make getting internet traffic in / out of Russia pretty tricky I guess.

Ukraine have also requested they are dropped from the central domain name services in Europe - again to many liberal 'freedom of speech' types around in the industry that I Think it is unlikely to get action but some organisations might take things into their own hands.

if you cut them off from the global interwebs, how will they get to see alternatives to state TV? would be largly countrproductive.

It's possible that NATO and Russia fight a conventional war and it never goes nuclear. Clearly we don't want to rely on that possibility though

It is possible, but I think it's hugely unlikely. If nothing else because I think such a conflict is a total mismatch and NATO hand Russia their arse on a plate, which in turn will be enough for Putin to push his big red button out of sheer humiliation.

Please don't let Putin's psychological warfare mind games get to you.

We have professionals who'll properly analyse them.

No point in worrying about what you can't control.

Flip side is - the Russians are already blocking many social media sites at the moment anyway
