Eh? We'll know the ceasefire isn't working, but Russia will simply blame Ukraine.
in todays battlefront where all comms are monitored, drones, spy plans, and satellites can watch event in real-time, they know who shot first, who violated the ceasefire.

let's at least give the process a chance rather than writing it off.

This really pisses me off. Donbass isn't "full of Russians". They're Ukrainians who because of proximity to Russia, speak Russian as first langauge, but who will nearly all speak Ukrainian too. There were some ethnic Russians as there are some ethnic French in Sussex, but Donbass isn't full of Russians, or it wasn't before ethnic cleansing and forced russification.

You are absolutely right. Just because Russia 'exported some of it's own people to other countries in their Soviet empire days doesn't mean they should be part of Russia.
It's like saying loads of Brits bought homes in Costa Blanca. So Benidorm etc should be part of the UK. Just as Britain shouldn't hang on to former colonies if those countries wanted independence

Jake Broe identifies an advantage to Russia, if there is a ceasefire. Watch from 4:20.

(Ukraine currently has an advantage - FPV drones can pick off Russian supply trucks within 20 km of the front line. If there's a ceasefire, Russia will take advantage of the absence of Ukrainian drones, flooding the front line with troops, equipment and supplies, inching forward and digging in).

Edit: I wouldn't be at all surprised if Putin is planning for this now. Not rejecting the ceasefire, but playing for time, so that he can assemble trucks, vehicles, troops, kit, supplies, all in position so that he can take full advantage of the 'ceasefire' and be ready to attack again when he is ready.

Also, if Russia just wanted their ethnics in Ukraine to have a perfect life in Russia they could have invited them and paid relocation, and I'm sure Ukraine would have let them go to Russia. Problem solved without loss of life.
But IT'S NOT ABOUT THAT! they don't care about anyone in Ukraine, they want to destroy the people and the country.

Trump just blurted out a load of absolute bollocks on Truth social about Ukrainian troops being surrounded, pending the biggest massacre since WW2 and he'd asked Putin to spare them.

Its literally made up nonsense, probably straight from Putin and he's regurgitating it whole. His own intelligence community could tell him its BS. Even Russian military Bloggers says its BS as are just about every war analyst online.... how did we end up with this buffoon?

Seems painfully transparent attempt to show Putin as 'the merciful one' when thousands of Ukrainian soldiers are not killed. I'm just waiting for Trump to try another Zelensky stitch up.

I fear we have reached the point now where the only likely outcome is the annexation of Ukraine. I really don’t see how Ukraine can win against a Russian USA alliance. Trump has shown his hand too many times for it to be anything other than what you see is what you get.
