I've not really taken any interest in him over the years. he always struck me has highly immature and camouflaged his fairly average intelligence with a few big words from the thesaurus.

Anyhow, I thought that for balance I should look at how he has refuted these claims on his YouTube channel. Then I took a look at some of the films he has made. When did he become a conspiracy theorist? His stuff is also impenetrable. Again, he dresses up thinly backed up points with totally buffoonery and immature commentary.

I love the fact that his defence appears to be, "well, I told you I was a sex pest, why is anyone surprised?" Now, he seems to be surprised that someone has bothered to call him out and say, "well, yes you were!"

I don't know the in's and outs of any of this, but yes, he's a bellend. I'm sure Andrew Sachs is enjoying watching this from whichever cloud he may be perched on!

I Think it is, I doubt these women just found each other and more like the papers put out enquiries to see what they can come up with. Was the same for Tate, Trump and others. When they start getting popular and considered a threat all the allegations are made. Trial by media.

I don't see where your evidence is for that. For a start, he hasn't just started getting popular. There are people far more popular than him who haven't faced such accusations. And women are making complaints about him. I think that a 30-year-old grooming a 16-year-old for sex is quite questionable, even thought Russell argues that it's consensual. A lot of his behaviour that he admits is quite distasteful, and given the number of girls/women he claims to have had sex with, it's no great surprise that people believe that he sees girls/women as sex objects, and that some of the thousands of people he's had sex with have accused him of wrongdoing.

I didn't watch the show, but I understand one of the complaints was from a woman who was 16 and at school, whilst he was 30.
Another was an employee.

Coercive control is a criminal offence, so it's possible he could face charges.

She says that he told her to use a different name for him on her phone, and taught her how to stop her mother finding out. At best, he's a complete scumbag.

Russell shagging as many girls/women as he could doesn't come as a surprise. What's surprised me is how Channel 4, when filming Big Brother's Big Mouth, were happy to take the phone numbers of pretty university students in the audience, so that Russell could hook up with them for sex. How the **** did they think that was ok?
Endemol. I think it was mentioned that young females were sought. Slips of paper passed to arrange the casting couch-esque trips to his room.

Also operating to a different play book now, take the kiss that you mentioned, yes wrong on many levels but the outrage ramped up is on another level.

Its called institutional capture where the left have taken over the MSM and Academia and the Right counter culture increasingly comedy, music etc. I'm not talking in absolutes but it allows leftist causes to be elevated beyond what would normally considered reasonable exposure. It also allows people on the left like Brand to be smeared as far-right.
The left have taken over the mainstream media?

Where do you live?

I must write to The Sun and the Mail to complain of their left wing bias.

While I agree that this will probably have been an orchestrated, that is the point of investigative journalism - to out 'bad' stuff. You can call it out as mainstream media attempting to suffocate Brand if you want, but you'll find that mainstream media often try to undermine each other's news if they think it's wrong e.g. Guardian versus Sun, Mail versus BBC etc. If this is a conspiracy against Brand then one of your mainstream media will break ranks.

What Brand thrives on is us all living in a post-trust or post-truth world. He wants you to think they are all liars and that he is the only one telling the truth. Can that really be? One guy is the only one telling the truth?

Were all employees on all BB shows employed by Endemol, as opposed to Channel 4?

Long overdue is a re-evaluation of the '00's media culture.

I was bang in the middle of it geographically. Working for a long gone post production company bang opposite MTV in Camden.

I was at work when RB turned up opposite dressed as Osama Bin Laden, the day after 9/11. Didn't see it, but heard about it.

Drugs everywhere (routinely taken at work) and loads of money sploshing about. New Labour were in, it was party time.

I kept away from it, because I'd done "my thing" in Manchester a few years before. When I returned to London it was full of twats.

The whole "scene" had clearly been invented by marketing execs. Clearly annoyed that something socially significant had emerged a few years organically in Northern Towns.

There was clearly a dark side that hasn't been addressed. I expect more stories to follow.
I have an eye-witness story about RB that makes yours somewhat beige. I may share it if it transpires that he's tried and convicted. Till then it remains firmly in the consensual satiation of 'sex addiction' arena, where pity may still triumph condemnation.

And I'm not saying anything else. But IMO it's a pretty awful practice for a TV show to routinely go to the university, hand out flyers to attractive students, and then go to them later as if they're air-stewards offering an in-flight meal, and saying 'hope you enjoyed the show, would you now like to go and have sex with our star Russell?'

This is how the media has twisted it I think. I suspect the runner just asked them if they would be willing to give brand their number , obviously unless they were completely stupid they would know what that was for. They had a choice if they wanted to give their number and if they chose to reply or meet brand.

Come on now..you know it’s not only one guy telling the truth?! How can you forget the other big brain free thinking oracles that have been so badly maligned and conspired against..Trump! Tate! Jones! Fox! Farage! and er, Crawley Dingo!
What a time to be alive!

it takes an incredibly long time for investigations to stand up to a point where they can be broadcast and also published. This has not been whipped up as some sort of MSM attack on him for having fruity ideas. What goes into print and broadcast needs to have been stood up rigorously.

Is that the same as a conviction? No. But only 1% of rape/sex claims lead to a conviction.

A reminder that Channel Four are effectively outing themselves as harbouring and protecting a sex abuser.

I quite agree. I am in essence making 2 points in that it is trial by media and not the media reporting Brand being charged and secondly no doubt they have been digging in Farage's past which didn't work so they went for his bank balance and accounts. Brand would admit no doubt that being an ex promiscuous smack head would make him a likely suspect.

My crime if any is cynicism and not prepared to give the media the benefit of the doubt. To many people lap up what the media says when it suits their prejudices, I tend to believe the opposite of what they say as being nearer the truth.

The Sun and Mail if out of step (I dont read them) are outliers.

Its not one Guy its millions, people where posting to him that the establishment would come for him and they were right. I think the establishment will go for Neil Oliver next for his GB News Monologues.
