Yes, that is the reason.
At least, historically that is the reason for the nickname, although it's became a two sided thing over time with Wednesday fans original reasoning for returning the insult was the red and white stripes looked like bacon rashers. If you don't believe me I'm sure a quick google search will prove that I'm right.

I'm no longer sure if we will get another striker, more and more midfielders who can score and defend is now the way forward. Is Forestieri that good? If he can with draw his labour for the owls he can do it for the next club, not wanted here.

Forestieri hasnt come over here to be playing in the Championship. it may be to the detriment of his career but i dont think he'll be after just an increased salary, he'll want to be playing in the Premiership. Newcastle or other might tempt him with cash but if they dont go up he'll be off again next summer.
