Another rogue thought im my current fevered state of anticipation was that it could be between OPDM and Dept of Transport (or whatever it's official name is). This might point to Sheepcote.

Nah. It won't be the Department for Transport. They (or, rather, the Highways Agency) had no objections to Falmer.

It'll be DEFRA (who run National Parks and spend far too much time talking with agencies like the Sussex Downs Conversation Board). They're also the Department that will have to decide on the boundaries of the new South Downs National Park.

All these Rumours are BULLSHIT. Nobody knows outside of the ODPM, and anyone connected certainly wouldnt tell anyone who might then post something on here.

It would risk the entire decision regardless of which way it goes.

No one knows other than those in the ODPM untill the envelopes are sent out and opened.
