That was an incredible performance by the American horse in the Queen Mary. I don't want to think about what the trainer might have been giving them, but I made more than enough on Jealous Again to follow the rest of his horses all week and still come out in front whatever happens.

Cannonball is starting to look very interesting in the Golden Jubilee on Saturday. He was last after a couple of furlongs in the King's Stand but finished so fast he ended up sixth. Take the 33-1 while you still can - I can see him starting in single figures if Mr Ward keeps his current form up.

His beast tomorrow already backed down to 9/4 best price in the first tomorrow and apparantly his Aegean running on Friday is the best of the lot according to him

I'm backing the French horse Monsieur Chevalier against this Yogaroo as the Yank is being hyped up against all proportion and might even get 2/1 for the Monsieur

You might well be right on this one. Hannon's horse put up a major performance at Sandown, but Yogaroo doesn't seem to be carrying the same sort of confidence as the rest of Ward's runners, and the price he is now is daft. And if he gets beat, it might push up the price on Aegean, which beat Jealous Again in a Grade 3 last time out.

Thought I'd be backing MC at 11-10, and he's 6-4 already and getting bigger.

Flat racing isn't my bag. Give me a decent jumps meeting any day of the week rather than these namby pampy, look at her dress isn't it nice, Pimms for me, bowler hat wearing bollocks.

Owing to a long train journey though, I bought the RP and had a mornings study to pass the time. I've emptied some of my betfair account on Yeats (i love history making horses, me) and Emirates roadshow in the 4.20 at a whacking great 25-1.

Flip flopping again here. Was talking to a very shrewd judge just now who said that on the clock, you could rate Jealous Again's run in the Queen Mary at anything up to 135, which is the sort of level that Arazi ran to in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile.

Performances like that come along once in most people's lifetimes, yet Ward has been insisting all week that Aegean, for one, is better than the filly.

You could take a generous view and say that Ward is largely a two-year-old speedball specialist, and has prepared his horses for these races so thoroughly that opponents with a traditional European preparation can't live with them. Jealous Again certainly looked a class apart physically in the paddock yesterday. You don't see many two-year-old fillies with the backside of a four-year-old five-furlong specialist. She looked like a cut-and-shut.

You could also suggest that there might be more to it than that, though it's probably best not to do so on a public forum. Whatever, Ward's horses seem to be a breed apart and I won't be opposing any of them from now on.

Nice one Unc.

Couldn't have backed her on stable form, but couldn't do anything other than back her after seeing her in the paddock. Complete standout, even in a very nice bunch. Interesting that she's arrived from Fabre, rather than taking the Dubai route. Also interesting to see whether she ends up being afflicted by whatever it is that afflicting all the others from the Godolphin yard.
