Guys, I know I 've been having my spats with one or two of you about the student cut-backs. Unfortunately my Grandson (11 months old) has contracted pneumonia and has been in hospital since Friday evening.

He's a little battler and we'll get through this, but I just wanted to take this opportunity to put into words my deepest respect for the nursing care he is receiving. The nurses, each and every one of them are proper "Angels". Obviously they have to remain professional but it must be difficult not to get emotionally involved but the care and love they show towards each and every child is totally heart rendering. When I hear them crying I would do anything to swap places with them. Children don't deserve this.

Sorry to bore you with this guys but just felt the need to share. Speaking with some of the senior sisters they could do with any additional funding. Someone mentioned in an earlier post that perhaps the REMF fund may have run its course ( I mean this in the most nicest of ways though) If that is the case perhaps we could adopt the Rocking Horse appeal in due course as our chosen charity.

Thanks all for your ears !!

with due respect that is the first time you have posted something on here which not only makes sense but with which no-one will argue. Good luck to the lad. He is in good hands.

Hey, arguements on an internet forum mean nothing with what you must be going through. He sounds like he is in good hands.

That brought tears to my eyes reading that. It must be an incredibly difficult time for you and your family, Jimbo. There's always people here to listen and comfort you on NSC mate.

I hope the little fella gets well very soon. Best wishes for a quick recovery.

I always donate to the Rockinghorse instead of sending Christmas Cards to friends and work colleagues.

Very best wishes to you and your family Jimbo.

Thanks all, we'll make sure he gets better (especially Arts v Science - Nice words Pal), we've had our little keyboard wars, trust me though you'll still be getting it from me when we get over this LOL. Once again thanks to you all. You are all correct he is in safe hands and naughty gully you certainly answered my initial post quite sincerely. It just cant be possible to do their job and not get emotional about it, Seeing and hearing sick children certainly puts things into perspective in my life !!

Best wishes for the little un recovering well. I am sure the whole team at the Alex will work their socks off to make your grandson better. That well known saying of "Keep the faith" really applies here.

He is the BEST hands possible. My eldest was born 3 months premature. She battled through big operations etc and she is now fine. All the best to him and all your family members.

Again thanks all, he's got his little seagulls top on and trust me "He will get to Falmer"......Supporting the Albion is not an option, its a right. His father is a Liverpool (Fan/supporter/Follower...god only knows which one). As his grandfather this choice is mine and he is one more of ours. Friday night the way he was kicking out he may be just the answer to our penalty problems.

Wishing you all the very best for your grandson's recovery. The brilliant staff at the Royal Alex saved my daughter's life when she contracted meningitis aged nine months. I can say from experience that your grandson couldn't be in better hands.

Art v Science I don't like this being nice to each other, LOL, got to take the positives if you know what I mean...My dad didn't quite make it for Falmer, but my little fella will, that will be a certainty. Please promise me though that you'll start coming back at me, that's what makes me tick. Confirms my faith with everyone on NSC, we rant, we rave but above all else we are all in it together.

Hove Born & Bred, thanks to you too, as I mentioned previously someone suggested on another post that perhaps the REMF had taken its course. Not for me to say but if that proves to be the case and we can get general agreement, dare I suggest we adopt the Rocking Horse Appeal for the next year or two ??

THPP Sorry mate I posted my previous post before seeing yours, glad to hear the outcome, I believe you understand where I'm coming from about those wonderful nurses. In my case its my grandson, so I'll not say that usual drivel of I know how you feel/felt etc. To see the hurt and pain in my daughters eyes is something I pray to god that I never ever see again. Being positive though he's a little fighter and has a hell of a kick on him. As mentioned before if Gus wants to give me a call I may just have the answer to this penalty problem.
