That was such a nice post! I hope he pulls through. I've never heard anything but good things from my friend who's sister didn't make it but before she went to GOSH she was in the Royal Alexandra and they are just so fantastic she said. I wish you and your family well in a difficult time.

KneeOn - Like some others on here, I've no doubt driven you mad recently, you likewise to me. Its just good to know that the Albion Family are there in your hour of need. I'm devastated to hear of your friends plight, the next few days are pretty important as the consultant has informed us. But hey, we'll get the little chap through this. That is a fact' 1st game at Falmer he. myself at my son will be there. People have previously posted he is in good hands and you couldn't be any further from the truth

Guys, I know I 've been having my spats with one or two of you about the student cut-backs. Unfortunately my Grandson (11 months old) has contracted pneumonia and has been in hospital since Friday evening.

He's a little battler and we'll get through this, but I just wanted to take this opportunity to put into words my deepest respect for the nursing care he is receiving. The nurses, each and every one of them are proper "Angels". Obviously they have to remain professional but it must be difficult not to get emotionally involved but the care and love they show towards each and every child is totally heart rendering. When I hear them crying I would do anything to swap places with them. Children don't deserve this.

Sorry to bore you with this guys but just felt the need to share. Speaking with some of the senior sisters they could do with any additional funding. Someone mentioned in an earlier post that perhaps the REMF fund may have run its course ( I mean this in the most nicest of ways though) If that is the case perhaps we could adopt the Rocking Horse appeal in due course as our chosen charity.

Thanks all for your ears !!

Is there any banner I could put on Countdown2Falmer so people can make donations?

Art v Science I don't like this being nice to each other, LOL, got to take the positives if you know what I mean...My dad didn't quite make it for Falmer, but my little fella will, that will be a certainty. Please promise me though that you'll start coming back at me, that's what makes me tick. Confirms my faith with everyone on NSC, we rant, we rave but above all else we are all in it together.

Hove Born & Bred, thanks to you too, as I mentioned previously someone suggested on another post that perhaps the REMF had taken its course. Not for me to say but if that proves to be the case and we can get general agreement, dare I suggest we adopt the Rocking Horse Appeal for the next year or two ??

Don't worry i will argue with you when the time is right! I would argue with myself on a good day

My daughter was very premature with complications and spent 4 months in the Royal Alex when it was up by the Seven Dials. The staff were amazing as you say and she made a full recovery from a very dodgy beginning. I know exactly what you're going through and this really is the time to Keep the Faith. Good luck to your family and grandson

As much as I am passionate and angry at the current afairs, there is a line that needs to be drawn to show where we need to stop before things get personal and we forget that we're all human. This is so far over that line. Keep us all updated about what happens.

Not Lewes Any More
My nephew spent half of his first 2-3 years between Royal Alex and guys after being born with Short Gut Syndrome. He's now 7 and lives pretty normal life.

My family will never forget the care he received and I'm certain he wouldn't be with us now but for them. The nurses are the most unbelievable individuals I've ever met.

Make regular donations to this cause.

Really hope all will be okay....I'm sure it will

Best of wishes to your Grandson Jimbo.

With regard to the Royal Alex, they definately saved my life. Back when I was just 14 months old, I was diagnosed with Kidney cancer and taken into the Alex, where they operated and successfully removed the kidney, and all the cancer. I gather there followed a period of raiotherapy and chemotherapy, which back in '64 was rather less advanced than it is today. Anyway, the upshot is that I gather the hospital were superb in all things and hopefully still are, he'll be in good hands.

Just far enough away from LDC
3 years ago this week, my then ten month old son was taken to the Alex with pneumonia. The staff there were superb for the week he was a patient and the albion players visited and gave him and other patients a real boost.

Best wishes to your grand son. I know what you're going through. He is in good hands.

Morning Jim, Obviously there was no inkling of the dramas ahead when I saw you in "The Weed" on Fri afternoon? I've left you a voicemail, call me when you get the chance, and it goes without saying that all the lads are 100% behind you and your family at this time mate. All the best Rusty

Many thanks KneeOn and to everyone for that matter for all your kind messages, very touching. He took a little turn for the worst during the night, increased temperature and heart rate, doctors say nothing to worry about though and they have everything under control.

On a lighter note if the Albion players do visit whilst we are there, does anyone know where I can purchase a book on how to take penalties which I can present to them ??

Firstly: AFAIK his heart rate and tempreture will be like that. If the doctors have said they have things under control then it shouldn't be too much trouble. Update us tomorrow about how he got on?

Secondly: :lolol: the book would be so good!
