Why wouldn't he ?

Look at the clubs he has played for. He must be on a fair bit.

He may HAVE been on that much.
But if we did ever come in for him we would never offer him that much

He would offer experience, increase competition for players and provide a focal point for our attack with his intelligent runs, strength and hold up play I don't think we currently have.

He would surely be on a fair wedge though. Gone from Birmingham to QPR who are both pretty well off sides, would think he's on 5k+ a week, and for that money i think we could do a lot better for ourselves. Yes he has his qualities, but nowhere near good enough to warrant being one of if not our top earner.

The figure bandied about on the QPR 606 board is £16k a week!

Sorry, but how does ANYONE know what money he is on? Can't stand it when some ill-informed individual comes up with a figure which quickly becomes accepted as gospel. For someone whose career has quite clearly faltered, I suspect that wages would not be the primary concern of prospective clubs trying to sign him.

You seem like a fan of Vine, what would he bring to the club that we haven't got already ???

Gav - Serious question. Are you a relatively 'new' football fan / Brighton fan?

People talk about his lack of goals, but Forster had barely scored in the few years before signing for us! Ok, so he had a history of goal scoring. But maybe in this team, Vine would bang them in. I doubt it, and I wouldn't exactly be giddy if we signed him. But his historic lack of goals doesn't mean the man is incapable, just that Gus hasn't had his hands on him before!

Erm, no i'm not a "new" football/Brighton fan. I just don't see the point on getting a player in and paying him 5k a week if he simply isn't worth it. He doesn't offer much at all and there are better out there for cheaper.
