Rooney, is he on the slide?

Might have helped his cause if he'd actually earned his money this season so far and maybe helped his team to do a bit better.

I am suprised to see you defending this sulky prima donna who obviously cares more about money than football.

I think people may be upset because Rooney has not conformed to the image the media have for him. He can care about his football and his money. I am sure the owners would love to pay him less than he can get elsewhere while they bleed the club dry.

And most players have periods when they are not as their peak as different things happen in their lives.

How? What could he do at City which he has not done already?

Do you have to get fulfillment from doing different things ?

Taking City to a first trophy, domestic titles, and European honours would be fairly fulfilling I'd have thought.

Is winning La Liga with Real Madrid (who would have won it anyway) any more fulfilling ? Debatable I'd have thought.

By fulfillment I mean realising full potential. I would hope, an England international has this first and foremost in his mind when it comes to his football. Maybe I'm wrong?

Why can't (or rather couldn't) he do that at City ?

He's already proved himself in the Premiership, his clean sweep of the various players awards and his medals are testimony to this. A true test of his ability and the real challenge is to go and do this in a foreign league. It is not to slide across town and face the same opponents week in week out in the same stadia.

Hmmmm. I am not so sure. More of a challenge to do it at a club that has has no recent winning tradition than with a club that is used to winning and will win whether you are there or not. Here or overseas.

Maybe he should sign for Espanyol then? He'd tick both our boxes if he proved himself there.
