Rom wages war on Blues

Think Terry , Lampard and co may be off!

:lolol:

CHELSEA have issued ‘take it or leave it’ deals to Frank Lampard, John Terry and Arjen Robben.

And it means the Blues trio will be on less money than Andriy Shevchenko and Michael Ballack.

Owner Roman Abramovich has declared no one will be paid more than Sheva and Ballack — who earn £121,000 a week.

And even though Lampard, Terry and Robben have all been central to the success Chelsea have achieved in the past three seasons, none has even been offered the same deal as the two newcomers.

Robben is the latest player to see a new contract on the table but has been told there will be no negotiations.

The Holland winger has been offered a new four-year agreement worth £84,000 a week.

Winger Robben is currently on £62,000 per week and, like Lamps and Terry, has two years left on his contract.

Chelsea skipper Terry has been been offered a deal worth £115,000 a week, which he has refused. Vice-captain Lampard has also rejected his offer.

Lampard and Terry feel aggrieved they have not been rewarded with at least the same contract as Shevchenko and Ballack, who have yet to win a championship at the club.

Robben, 23, has been attracting interest from Bayern Munich and Barcelona and could feasibly resign from his contract after the FA Cup final having completed three years of it.

If he thinks Shevchenko or ballack deserves to be paid more than Lampard or John Terry he is in dream world.

I'd tell him to stick it and go elesewhere, the fact is...Shevchenko and ballack and havent done a lot to justify their wages!

:nono:

Good, Some clubs dont reward failure with new deals.

If they want a pay rise they will have to earn it.

I really cant see many clubs wanting Lampard.

Okay but how does that justify the deal they awarded Pillock and Chumpchenko when they arrived?

Because they had been signed before this season, and the lack of the title and champions league.

Shevchenko was one of the top strikers in the world when he arrived, and Ballack one of the best midfielders in the world and on a free.

I think Sheva(If given a chance next year) will come good as will Ballack, they need to get used to the pace.

Henry took a while to settle at Arsenal as did Drogba.

Appropriate use of the 'past' tense there.

I think they could still be quite good here. The English league is pretty different to the rest of Europe. The tempo of the gamesc is pretty constant, and perhaps the two of them aren't used to the fitness levels required here. Maybe with a full pre-season instead of the World Cup etc they will be up to scratch.

Also, as much as Ballack has been average, I don't think the system they play in is his fault. It should be either him or Lampard, not both of them, in my opinion.

Perhaps I am seeing it slightly blighted but.

Put yourself in Lampard's and Terry's expensive leather moccasins. You sweat blood to get a club side through a succesful season.

In the close season the club sign a couple of mercenary galacticos who strike a deal better than you. Through the season they do NOT contribute as much as was expected and in some quarters are contrbuters to a less successful season which then drives your bosses to say that they will not reward you for a less than successful season.

Not ideal but then I am sure food will still be on the Lampard and Terry dinner table this coming season.

And I would pick Ballack.

Nonsense Lampard could get in any of the top European sides in Europe ..

I reckon they are stalling to see if Jose goes, I reckon they may go with him !!!

Why would top clubs want a player that goes missing in big games, I think you are right on your second point.
