Was speaking to a member of the Albion staff yesterday and dipped my toe in regarding John Stephensons rather quick depature ,it turns out that he alone sighned Bergcamp and that Gus went ape shit over it.basically gave the club an altimatum him or me the rest is history also told that Hinchlewood has been offerd redundancy but has refused to go .Hes been put in a tiny office with no windows as Gus does not see him in being able to run his new acadamy ,to stuck in his old ways ect ect

I'd believe that, and Gus signing the 5 year contract means that Gus will get his own people in to run the new academy

Can they not make Hinsh redundant now as we do not have an academy and planning may be refused, in whic case his job has gone. When the academy is built in 18 months a new job will be created which wouldnt be the same as Hinshlewoods now.

Perhaps the club's Life President still has the ear of TB. Hinshelwood is a legacy employee and biding his time before the inevitable happens.

this story about Bergkamp has been around a while. theres a part of it i rather dislike. i'd hope a manager would give the kid a chance even if not his signing.

Hinsh cannot be that bad a coach, he was previously head hunted by Chelsea, prior to returning to the Albion. He is a decent individual and very knowledgable about the game and very good at nurturing younger players. However, it is important that Gus believes in the individuals at all levels of the club, as they will effectively be communicating his style and theories. If Hinsh has had his day, it is unfortunate but life goes on - he must be nearing retirement in any case.

All this talk of kicking Hnshelwood in the nuts, we haven't had a bad turnover of players over the years. Especially considering Archer et al ran our youth system into the ground. I'm not saying he should have a job for life, but people are talking about binning him on a rumour and little information.

I reckon he deserves a lot more respect than people are willing to give him.
