A hard to replace legend

I can't make it.

I saw his first game, but I won't be there to see his last.

The last time we won the County Championship, I must have bumped into his four times in Hove. Every time, I offered my congratulations. He might have thought that he had a stalker brewing.

I saw him at the Paddle Round the Pier event. But before I could rush over and shake his hand (with my flipper), he had disappeared.

Certainly a man that did a great deal for the club and probably deserved an England call up at some point.

The loss for Sussex is to the gain of Hurstpierpoint College.
