Probably something in it and think you can see it through number of long shots taken I think most players want to shoot more than they do. At the end of Potter we were shooting all over the place maybe he gave more creative freedom than before maybe Caicedo gave them more creative freedom. Or a mix. And then when Roberto came we had a lot of free shooting players in the squad. Dont think Roberto is denying them freedom but maybe new young players try too hard to satisfy him instead of going with gut feeling sometimes when they should
Has he actually said that? Everything that I've seen is about him mentioning his 'future', which is pretty ambiguous.
Not shooting from long range is a trend across all of football, not just at the Albion because it's statistically proven it's generally a stupid thing to do. Teams are far more productive overall by keeping the ball and trying to score from closer in.
Trend seems to be changing if you watched the good teams this season plenty of shooting from outside. Next step in the evolution. Teams got better defending penalty area now you have to bait them out with good shooting. With multiple options they cant know what you´re gonna do good advantage in the tactical chess game
Nope, it's still very much the case that players are trained not to shoot from distance from kids through to the top level of the professional game. The chance of scoring from closer in is so much greater plus you reduce the chance of losing the ball and being susceptible to transitions.
I get this is the development but I´m saying very recently the big teams appear to be shooting more from distance. I know most dont I know we dont (only Gross) but if you look top 5 things are changing. Shooting from distance might not give many long shot goals but it help teams score from close range. Unpredictability

I think it's because people tend to go from left to right. That's how I read it – literally! I get what you mean, but I think it would look STUPIDERER (to me, anyway) if the points were plotted the other way around.
In the pre-Liverpool press conference he was specifically asked "..can you guarantee that you will be here next season?"
Fair enough – although we all know there are no guarantees in football.
Ok, and I'm sure he's smart enough to realise our 'plan' can not, and should not, be to compete financially with Man City, Newcastle, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man U and Liverpool, however much we might wish we could. We can certainly compete with them on the pitch as we have shown repeatedly and hope to do so for many more years with or without Roberto - I sincerely hope it's with, btw.
Having watched Leverkusen a few times now I think Swanny’s latest account had a point. They shoot from distance a lot. But they create the room to do so. They also almost always pass it forward and alternate between going through the middle or out wide.
