& we can worry about the Championship next by the sounds of it.

Based on what?

His three months in Palermo... must have done something right. Out of the 26 managers they appointed between 2010 and Zamparini leaving in 2018, 18 of them only survived 2 months of football. Benenvento operated on a €15m wage budget, with the worst and cheapest teams staying up paying €21m (or 29% more than Benevento). Exactly what did you expect him to perform at those clubs?

Why's this mug all over it again. Literally the same tweet as yesterday !

There is something slightly suspicious about de zerbi thrusting himself in the spotlight via journos.

He's mates with agents and gets all his news from them. Once you realise that his tweets are basically repeats from agents, things become a bit clearer. I'm not 100% convinced this is our guy yet.

He lasted 13 games at Palermo before being fired ! He got Benevento relegated and got destroyed in the champions League with Donetsk after spending 60m+ on the team.

Sassoulo and Foggia are the outliers. Where he did very well. Bear in mind that Foggia were a non league club when he was manager.

It would be an interesting appointment but he's not perfect by any stretch.

He was last ‘fired’ in 2016 with Palermo. That’s pretty, pretty, pretty good for a football manager.

He might get annoyed that we’d be selling all our best players though. Dozens and dozens of players went in and out of Sassoulo during his three year tenure. According to Transfermarkt, he left them +£16m in transfer profits from his three seasons but you could see that they were letting players go too young and not realising the full value, Manuel Locatelli is a good example, £12.6m an absolute bargain. We don’t do that here.

I am joking, to be honest I trust Bloom & Barber to make the right decision, it is completely irrelevant what I think or say.
How is your head this morning after ya Vodka last night..

Yer I definitely get it. I also think he gets paid by agents.

Hmmmmm I’m calling it - it’s uttter horse shit. I can’t believe Tony would offer the job to someone who has an agent busy whoring out his client to all and sundry... I’d be absolutely amazed if he’s our man.

So a few tweets here and there means 'utter horse shit'? How do you know either way? Twitter is full of nonsense but also often picks a signal up. Without inside knowledge, I'd say anyone who says definitely yes or definitely no is talking utter horse shit.

I think we can safely say de zerbi has been spoken to by Brighton. But we can also safely say that de zerbis agent is whoring him around Europe in the press.

And we know big Tony B won't be liking that. Big red flag.

So I feel like he is an unlikely appointment.....

In which case, the time to invest has arrived.

There is outstanding value on Haise, Knuts and Bo-Peeps if you believe that talk of De Zerbi is all bull.

Okay - I’m hoping it’s horse shit - as I’m unconvinced by his record, his tenure at other clubs - accepting a job at a club with (alleged) mafia connections ... it doesn’t feel like an appointment that our club would make...

I have said - I’m probably wrong, but he’d be an odd appointment... I suspect our real target will be far less vocal than Mr Zebri.

Happy to accept if I’m wrong :)

Does anyone know what his preferred formation was when at Shaktar or Sassuolo? A manager that continues using 3 centre backs might help the transition.

It's a post on twitter from an account that deals with rumours about Sevilla so it could be just that a rumour. That said De Zerbi's agents job is to whore him out to everyone at the moment, his client is out of work so it's in both their best interests to get as many clubs as possible interested in employing him.

Most of the Italian managers seem to be highly strung, gobby and impulsive ranters. I am still struggling to see how this one will pass due diligence.

How do you know his agent is behind the tweet, anyone can make up a tweet?
